    Langlitz Crescent

I may be wrong, but I thought their heavyweight cowhide was about 4 oz.?

Highanddry, Fantastic jacket! Thanks for sharing. I like the sleeve length - did you request anything special on that, or is that what they did based on your provided sleeve measurements? (It's the length I'm aiming for.) How much longer did you specify on the body length? I'm getting...

    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

How do the Chippewa and Red Wing engineer boots compare in quality? The Red Wings are $280 and the Chippewas are more than a $100 less. I've read that Chippewa is currently having some QC issues, though. Any experiences with both brands?

    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

How do the Chippewa and Frye harness boots compare with each other in terms of quality. Are the Chippewas a much better made boot? Thanks again.

    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

Are these boots still in style in the US? I've had a hard time trying to locate a pair of Red Wing 2990 black Engineer boots and thought they must not sell much. I think Chippewa also makes some. What about "harness" boots? When I was a kid, "Dingo" boots were popular, but Chippewa and Frye...

Has Anyone Seen a Schott 135?

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up trying it out and it is kind of baggy and didn't fit me. I'm going the Vanson Enfield route and see how that goes. (The Vanson Model B with shirt collar looks good, too.) Of course, that Langlitz Crescent with the A-2/shirt collar sure sounds good, too...

    G&B Civil A-2 in Cowhide

All good info - thanks to everyone. Why do some say that cowhide doesn't hold up as well to being rained on? I have a friend with a Langlitz cowhide and his has held up great for years, in spite of being rained on. Thanks.

    G&B Civil A-2 in Cowhide

Thanks for the info. I wanted a heavier weight - something that feels substantive. I felt a recent L.L. Bean jacket that was goatskin and it felt so thin, it felt flimsy. I wanted something that felt like leather. Maybe the G&B goatskin would feel better. Thanks.

    G&B Civil A-2 in Cowhide

I'm considering a G&B Civil A-2 in cowhide, since they don't offer the Civil in horsehide. However, I've read that cowhide doesn't stand up to being rained on as well as horsehide and goatskin? Does the cowhide dry and crack? I do like that it's thicker/heavier than goatskin and that it will...

Has Anyone Seen a Schott 135?

Hello all, New here and have enjoyed reading lots of info. Has anyone seen one of the Schott 135 jackets, as pictured here? It's described as pebbled cowhide. Anyone have any experiences with this jacket they would care to share? Is it a heavy or lightweight leather jacket? Is it warm? etc...
