The #6 has been a bit of a learning curve, but not bad. I haven't driven in them much, just a mile or two in the pickup to get to the field and then all day in the swather. It doesn't have pedals other than for header lift, so hard to say much about the boots.
The heel and slick sole have been...
The order has only been in a week or two, I doubt they've gotten to the heel yet. Call them! You're paying for a high end product, get it the way you want it.
Joao, I was the original owner but it wasn't made for me. I went down to look around and put in an order, and found that one on display with a lot of other hats that they already had made for stock.
Tired or not, better to go do something than sit on the couch. Please forgive the goofy picture angle. It took a little walking to get a feel for the heel, but they're pretty nice. Much better support in the saddle. They need to break in, the left is a bit loose compared to the right. Neither...
Joao, that hat looks better on you than it ever did me. Very nice!
Michael, if you live in west TN and haven't been by you're cheating yourself. It's worth going in just to watch them work...but you may not get out that easy. :D I've been there twice and had two of their hats. Coincidence? Or...
Thanks all. Joao, the shirt is an old Wrangler. It's super thin, great for warm weather but not very tough. It's has a rip on the inside of the left arm I need to try to fix. It's the only medium tall shirt I've ever found, and it fits me really well. Could be a bit wider in the shoulders...
Well, let's try this again.
Michael, I think they'll fit under your jeans alright. These are mine under normal Wranglers.
I'm debating if I want to go catch a horse and try them in the stirrups tonight. I really do want to, but we've been haying from daylight to dark the last week or...
As much as I like the Atwood, the crown is just too short for it to stay in place on these windy afternoons. Had to come to the house for a bit and swapped hats. Joao makes a good point about how cool it is to be there when a hat is made like I was for the Buckaroo I usually wear. I swapped the...
Those aren't bad at all, Michael. It's a good color. The yellow pair isn't bad either.
I dug around and found the photo, this is what had been planned for my replacement pair.
After discussing it with Art, that's what it seemed like they were going to do which is why they estimated 2-3 weeks. I'd have to look back and see when I spoke with him, but it was last week or the week before that they were supposed to get started on the medium brown pair. I was a bit...
The saga continues. Michael from PB called me today, my original sales rep. He saw my returned boots and wanted to know what was going on. I explained, he talked with Art, everything seemed good.
Art emailed me a bit later with a confirmation sheet for my new boots, and said now they're 6-8...
Yeah, if I know it's going to be bad I've got a couple of pair of rubber boots. On days that start dry and get rainy, or the cows stomp the corrals into a kid out there's just not much you can do about it though.
Atwood Nevada. I'm still not entirely happy with the shape, and I wish the crown was about 1" taller. Decent hat though. I'll tweak the brim a little more later.
My understanding of the three colors is that they're all made from the same leather. The color is kind of a side affect of the waxing process, the more wax they work into it and the deeper the wax penetrates, the darker the color becomes. The medium brown has the least amount of wax worked into...
