I am buying some "lighter" Schott Perfectos for mid-season (buying off season is supposed to be smart !)
Pull the plug on this Schott 619 from ebay. A 626VN should follow soon...
Punks should know better and not mess with Fred Williamson and his classic Schott 674 (with sherpa liner) in Bill Lustig's"Vigilante" !
This jacket seems to have been born everywhere in the late 70s/early 80s : "The Thing", "Dawn of the Dead", Lou Reed, Freddie Mercury...
It took me four years to find a 118 second handed at my size (a rather common size : 38), and I found it a price which is still pricey for a second handed one (600 €). But... The condition was almost new, so no regret ! The 118 are not the easiest Perfectos to find second handed, and I don't buy...
The sleeves look a bit long on your model but otherwise it is great and in very good condition...
I love my Schott 118, it looks so good. All these ladies'"wow" looks i catch on the street when i wear it are almost embarassing !
I really like suede jackets, i've got a few of them from Schott USA, Aero Leather (the college 50s jacket), Levi's... I like that they less "harsch" than the classic leather one, i like the drapé, the way they catch the light. But as said by other members, i don't wear them as much as i would...
The back of my 2015 Schott 613 is 24 inches long. The back of my 2018 Schott 618 is 25 inches. My 2021 Schott 118 is 26 inches. I am 6 feet tall, honestly, 26 does not feel that long at all. Each length gives a different look, but none of them are bad...
The best of my collection for your enjoyment, very Schott Oriented... :)
Suede Bombers : Schott USA Brown 38, Schott USA Rust 40, Aero Leather College 1950s suede jacket 36, 2019
The Holy Trinity of Schott Perfectos : 613 steerhide, 38, 2015 ; 618 steerhide, 40, 2018 ; 118 cowhide, 38...
Be advised too that a modified Schott jacket will lose a signifiant part of its value on the second hand market... People "in the know" will notice. Same thing for people who remove the belts from the 618, 118, etc...
You'd better sell your 118, save the tailoring, then find a new jacket that...
The 1XX Schott Jacket are usually wide fits (think 141, 184, 118) and the 6XX are tighter. I own a 141 true to my 38 size, and yes it is not a super slimmy fit, but i like it enough and it is way more confortable than some other slimmer models from other brands which look cool for taking a...
My Schott 674, steerhide, complete non removable quilted lining, made in USA. It is still available in Europe, although it is not in the US catalog anymore. Bought new in 2018.
It can be found in Paris in a few western/americana shops, for about 700 €, which is really the floor price for a made...
-2° C in Paris today, time to release the Schott 257 (bought new in 2019). This shearling jacket inspired by the B3 has some very cool aging effects that gives him a nice texture, and a slight suede treatment that is very, very nice ! My most expensive Jacket, one of my favourite too... There...
Worn today my Schott 674 sherpa lined from the 80s (or 70s). Bought it 80 € only. Very beat up, but no leather rot and all the pockets and hardwares, zipper are good ! 38, which is my size, but still tight, and short (23.5 inches long back only). Wearing it open, it works OK. Closed, well, it is...
I think fringes are mighty cool on a suede jacket, in the Dennis Hopper in "Easy Rider" tradition. it has a peaceful rebel attitude very unique. Not very wearable in everyday's life nowadays, unfortunately. Some vintage Schott ones can be found second handed at very reasonable prices in France...
I have a 613 38 (the classic steerhide one from 2015, 24 inches "long"). My true size is 37, and i have a 618 2018 steerhide in 40 (25 inches). This 618 is very fine, confortable enough, a little loose, but not too much, very similar to the fit of my 118 38, just shorter and a little tighter...
More and more made in UK Brands include the charge of the taxes for the EU countries in their price : solovair for the shoes, Baracuta (it sends its EU orders from Italy if i remember correctly) or Gloverall (at least that's what they write on their website). Of course the prices have raised...
