What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

Love red! Another lip tip: When I'm using my cold cream, I rub some over my lips to remove my day's lipstick, and I'll spend a little extra time with the wash cloth on them as well. The wash cloth helps to exfoliate my lips and the cold cream moisturizes them. I'll also slather on chapstick...

    Beauty Marks

I have one on the left side of my face, right in between my lips and my chin--and it's real! I do daken it because my foundation tends to cover it up a little, but I've always loved it. I think I was enhacing it as young as 12 years old!

    Show us your hair do's....

I had this problem too, but I found that if I just took my time it seemed to work. I didn't section off my hair in any official manner, but I used hair clips and headbands to keep everything seperated.

    Show us your hair do's....

curls I attempted to do curls with my flat iron today and I think the results turned out very nicely! Definitely not a vintage way to do it, but it didn't take much longer than had I straightened my hair. I haven't decided if I'm going to pull part of it back for the day or just leave it.

Lace it up - The true Corset thread

I have to say, I'm actually very intimidated by corsets. I don't know why--I love the effect they give! I'm going to have to get over my fear though... we have a ball to go to in November and I want one of those sheath/mermaid style dresses and those definitely show off your curves (or flaws)!

Help me decide on a new hair color!

I say black, but I have pretty dark hair, so I think I'm biased! lol

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

I have 3 tattoos. I'm not a purist vintage girl, however, nor am I rockabilly. I agree with what others have been saying--you can pull of any look even with a tattoo. I have one on each foot and one on my lower back. They are all in areas where they can be covered. Plus, if you had an event...

    Hair Fascinators

I think it's beautiful! And yes, do look on etsy. I bought a gorgeous fascinator for a Mardi Gras benefit earlier this year and I got so many compliments on it. I believe the seller was Boring Sydney. In a pinch, you could make one yourself. Most supplies can be found at any craft store.

    Show Us Your Purchases!

For the ears and not the eyes! I can't really "show" my latest purchase, as I just bought a CD with old fashioned radio shows on it! lol I bought (almost) the entire series of "My Favorite Husband" by Lucille Ball. I'm so excited for it to get here! My husband was listening to a sample of the...

Looks like I accidentally deleted the hip measurements! Whoops! Hips are 38" total.

WWII-era dress for sale: $45 OBO

Unfortunately, this is a bit too snug for me (thought I was thinner than I am). But my loss is your gain! This is a gorgeous rayon WWII-era dress (feels like silk). It has pink polka dots over a chocolatey brown background. 3 decorative buttons down bodice (I think these are Lucite)...

    Vintage Wedding Dresses

I also loved Ashley Judd's dress in De-Lovely. Of course there's no decent picture of that scene but she was just gorgeous!

    Bath or Shower

Baths are my luxury in a failing economy! lol Right now I'm hooked on Johnson & Johnson's Lavender Baby Oil; sprinkle some in the water and just soak. I've actually stopped using perfume during the day because the oil smells so light a heavenly on my skin.

    Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen!

Miss Bella Hell, I balked at the price too! I just bought sunscreen for $8 and thought that was a bit much! lol I always rely on my staples like Banana Boat SPF 50. My skin usually drinks it up since I tend be dry, and I use a small dollop mixed in with my foundation (which also has sunscren in...

    Vintage Streetstyle Thread

Goldfish, these are awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'll be on that site for the next 4 hours... The Shirt, I am the same way about accesories! Now that I'm finally getting down the basics for clothes, I need to learn to polish off the look.

    Vintage Weddings

Lord, I love that cake! I think the flower actually adds something special to it! I'm so envious of all your girls getting to do these vintage weddings. I've told Hubby that on our 10 year anniversary we're going to do a vow-renewal and I want to make it all 40's themed. My wedding dress...
