Another sponge curler 'do. This time I was able to leave it down as I got much softer curls than before. I just pinned back the left side to keep some of it out of my face and tucked the right side behind my ear.
Hoping this is where I should ask this...
Ladies, what do you do with your hair the day after? Yesterday I rolled my hair into curlers (I know, not pin curls, sorry!) and had a great result. Last night, I wrapped a scarf around them to preserve them. Today, they didn't look quite right...
I agree with everyone else, this BY FAR has to be my favorite thread. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Pictures of my grandmother, this first one is in 1943.
This is my all time favorite picture of her (in 1944) because it's one of those manually colored pictures. I was hoping the...
May I ask where one finds a DE razor (or maybe what it stands for)? My husband loves the memories of his grandfather lathering up for a shave and I've been thinking of maybe getting him something. I found this website (http://www.classicshaving.com/Home.html), which seems nice, but I don't see...
Hubby and I were out at the outlet malls today, and J. Crew had THE most adorable vintage looking cardigans. They had a chiffon ruffle around the neck in the same color as the cardi. But they wanted something like $55 for them and it was just way too much in my humble opinion! Had they been $20...
Baseball outfit
I've been corresponding with Fleur about outfits to wear to baseball games and this is what I've decided on...
The shirt is from Pin Up Girl Clothing, and the pants are from the Banana Republic Outlet store. They are about as "high waisted" as I can go and I LOVE them...
They're not above the waist line, but they sit just under it. I LOVE them. I found them (of all places) at the Banana Republic Outlet. They're limited edition jeans and they are so comfortable!
I love the back--it has this little waist tightener that's perfect if pants tend to gap on you...
Thanks ladies! This is what I call my "faux-victory rolls." They give only a slight impression of the real deal, but because of all the front layers my hair has, bit and pieces tend to stick out if I try the real thing. Trying to grow out some of those layers for that very reason!
lol lol lol I have an ideal face shape! I'm an oval!
For the ladies who asked how to figure out their own--my hair stylist was actually the one who told me what shape my face was. We were talking about different cuts and she told me that I was lucky to have an oval face, that most cuts work...
Sponge curler success!
I finally got my sponge curlers to give me a nice hair-do! And I think it's the most authentic looking 'do I've ever had--not to mention, I actually did it in a vintage way! ;)
I rolled these last night on freshly washed hair, with a leave-in cream conditioner. I tied...
Those are hideous!! lol I like stacked platforms, but I agree that after about an inch or two, I tend to fall off of them. I actually cracked an ankle bone from walking in those ridiculous platform tennis shoes The Spice Girls made so popular back in the 90's.
The first ones DO look nice on you. Maybe my skirt was just too high. I know there are vintage patterns out there, so maybe I could adapt some to fit me better...
What if you're not fortunate enough to have the body that allows you to wear high waisted pants? I'm short through and through and the one time I wore something high waisted, it looked terrible! Case in point:
I was told the hemline needed to be shorter for this particular skirt, but it...
Lady Day, I was just looking at this brand on Amazon! I couldn't decide which scent to buy, so I just didn't buy anything. I was lean towards the rose scent too, but I'll stay away from that--I think I know what kind of a smell you're talking about.
