I finally got the listing up for anyone that was interested in seeing it.
Sorry, I will post here when I get it up, but I always have trouble getting pictures up on this site. I might give in and create a Photobucket account.
I have a rather interesting 1920's suit up for sale in the classifieds, it has some moth damage, I'm not sure if it can be repaired, but it can still be used as a pattern.
I've been trying to get a similar outfit together for a year now. You just gave me all the motivation I need. Is that a tab collar, and where did you find the shirt, or is it luxire?
Oh, come on, longer jacket sleeves are boring, I always show at least an inch of shirt cuff, it really makes you stand out. I do it more so if the jacket has tappered sleeves.
As a precoussor to this story I'm sixteen, I don't consider myself to be a teenage rebel or anything, I'm really not even that big into the rocabilly subculture or even the 1950's, but I thought this was a story to share. I usually wear pressed dress shirts, but recently one day I had been...
Up until the late 1930's seersucker was considered somewhat of a poor mans suit, and wasn't popular outside of the southern United States. Seersucker only gained popularity when the college kids, then the actors, and then the Duke of Windsor starting wearing it.
I always see women in dresses, especially in the summertime, they're mostly casual things from department stores. I would agree to say dresses changed, but they haven't really ever went out of style even with lots of women wearing trousers.
I just realized I been to lake lure dozens of times, I live pretty close to the state line. I have never been to dine there though, I'll have to check it out once I get a nice after six outfit.
Thanks for the information gents, it's always a pleasure to learn something. Each to his own, the fabric seems useful, but it doesn't seem very appealing to me.
I'd have to say I'm not so sure that he's the ONLY one, some of the older gents look pretty classic. Some young men also have tasteful flair, althogh it is rare.
