Replacing the facing and lining in a dinner suit?

What was the price for that?

Replacing the facing and lining in a dinner suit?

The cleaners did not forewarn me of anything, but I instructed them to be very cautious, hand wash, and don't press. They pretty much did everything I told them not to, then tried to say they didn't. The facings were a duller satin, on the edges it came off in spots to wear the canvas was showing.

Thanks, I'll get some up within the next week.

Replacing the facing and lining in a dinner suit?

I dropped my 1920's tuxedo off at the dry cleaners. It was in near perfect condition, I have literally never came across something that fit me better. I strictly told them not to press it under any circumstances, and informed them of it's age. They cleaned my other suits fine. They completely...

    Suits - Pre 1920

I was so close to buying that, but it was in such rough shape that I don't think anyone in my local area could mend it. Please let me know how it turns out.

    Flapping the pocket

Putting my hands in the pockets (with thumbs out), feels natural to me. I usually do it when standing in one place for a decent amount of time, but when I sit or walk I pull the flaps back out.

    What are you wearing today??

So unspeakably classic. It's all business, but so elegant. It's got flair, it doesn't blend in with the other navy suits and conservative ties. :eusa_clap

How do you style your hair? How do people react?

I go with a Ray Milliand cut, but close on the very edges.

Absolutely timeless, classic, tasteful and conservative cufflinks?

I have a pair of pearl cuff-links that always look sharp. I've always thought of them as versatile.

    What are you wearing today??

I won best dressed at my high school a few months back and wanted to share the photo, excuse the bad quality. I'm wearing a 1940's brown wool tie, a white cotton dress shirt, 1930's collar pin, modern red v-neck sweater, a 1945 Naval Cadet Blazer, red duck pattern socks, cordovan loafers, and...

How did people in the 40s-50s casually dress? (Without Suits)

I'm a high school student, and I do my best to look vintage everyday. I even won best dressed and I've influenced some other people. I usually wear dress shirts with v neck sweaters, dark 501's or wranglers, with loafers and dress socks. I have other military surplus and Nordic sweaters that I...

    Jeans

For cheap Jeans that last Rigid Cowboy Cut Wranglers do good if you're afraid to mess with selvage. http://www.wrangler.com/store/WRG_STORE_US/en_US/style/13mwzr.html If you're not a cowboy and cuff rather than stack they look quite nice for everyday wear.

    1920s suits

That's what I suspected, the zipper is definitely 50's, but I could hope it had been added. The leg opening is also a little much, and the size is a little larger than the jacket. The color matches well, but I might make a separate listing. It is a very lovely jacket and vest nonetheless. I'm...

1920's Three Piece Navy Suit (damaged)

Never mind it, I'm convince the pants are 1950's, I'll create a separate listing, thanks for helping me realize. There were some obvious signs that I overlooked. I thought the zipper could have been added, but the overall cut of the pants screams 50's other than their flat front.

1920's Three Piece Navy Suit (damaged)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1920-039-s-43-44-Vintage-Navy-Three-Piece-Suit-100-wool-moth-damage-/181611614238? I finally got the listing up for anyone that was interested in seeing it. I'm not too familiar with the price range of jackets sold for patterns, so I will also take offers by private message.
