Replacing the facing and lining in a dinner suit?

I dropped my 1920's tuxedo off at the dry cleaners. It was in near perfect condition, I have literally never came across something that fit me better. I strictly told them not to press it under any circumstances, and informed them of it's age. They cleaned my other suits fine. They completely destroyed it a day before the senior prom. I don't know what to do. I really want to mend it even though I can't have it by tomorrow. Any help or sympathy is appreciated.

I can't give you any advice. I just wanted to give you my condolences.
I'm still new here. From what I've seen reading here there are others who can give you solid answers. Can you post pictures?

Can you decribe the damage? Did the cleaners tell you what they thought had happened?

Also, I'm curious what the material the facings were - satin or grosgrain?

The cleaners did not forewarn me of anything, but I instructed them to be very cautious, hand wash, and don't press. They pretty much did everything I told them not to, then tried to say they didn't. The facings were a duller satin, on the edges it came off in spots to wear the canvas was showing.

I have a 1930s dinner jacket with grosgrain facings. The edges and corners were showing wear so I had my tailor replace the facings. The new facings look as though they came with the jacket. As for the lining, I believe that a tailor could also replace that, although I have never had it done.

What was the price for that?

A tailor will be able to take care of both trouble-spots for you.

A skilled seamstress can redo the lining for you, but both of the ones I know would direct you to a tailor for the facings.
