I don't like to judge, but then I very rarely see anyone in vintage clothing walking the streets .. unless you count the eighties as vintage as the magazines do, but I personally don't. I really can't recall the last time I saw someone in vintage to be honest, someone who wasn't going to an...
This is my favourite necklace. It was given to me as a gift by a friend's mum, for being such a good friend to her daughter. The chain is platinum, but I have no real idea what the stones are. People say that if it's a platinum setting, then the smaller stones (not the square one) may be...
lol
I had a letter sitting here next to a sheet of stamps for a good while and for some absurd reason kept asking my husband to get me a stamp when he was in town. The thought to use one from the sheet never occured to me :eusa_doh:
I am getting better though, as I have writing paper...
I read somewhere that if you have all of your writing things set out with some stamps, then you will be more inclined to write when it's all there waiting for you as opposed to being tucked away out of the way. Out of sight, out of mind as they say. When there is a plentiful supply of stamps...
Oddly enough just recently I have had three proper letters in the post.
One was in a parcle which was all wrapped up in brown paper. The letter even had a wax seal and had been written with a dip ink pen.
Then there were two other hand written letters but this is a rarity. It's usually me...
I say demmed nuisance and demmnable if that helps lol
I have also used the term bally well
Slightly :offtopic: but I make it my mission to use words that are not used often nowadays, like ghastly or hideous as that usually gets me looks suggesting I made it up from people with limited...
Not many people in the UK use the word film anymore, movie seems to have taken over. Personally I will always refer to a film as a film. We have the film4 channel over here and even though it's called film4, they still say "Movies this April on film4." [huh]
I will always refer to art deco...
:eusa_clap
I could never manage something like that LD.
I should photograph my latest makes and revamps - a hat, an Edwardian skirt and four dresses :)
I thought you linked to it actually, but then I also thought I might have made that up lol
I loved that WoTW broadcast day. An online friend sent it to me so I burnt it to CD and saved it for Christmas .. apparently it's as it originally was when first broadcast. I'd love to be able to get...
I often get asked this actually as it looks like I have a gravity defying hat :)
First and foremost it's hat elastic which I have underneath my hair which is usually pulled back in a pony-tail as it's very curly and to wear it loose would be ridiculous and then a few hairgrips through the net...
lol
Is there a link to that broadcast anywhere? Was it a podcast type doo-dah?
One Christmas as I was making Christmas dinner, we put on the Orson Wells War of The Worlds broadcast. It was so quiet outside with not a soul on the street that it was almost like stepping back in time. I often...
I often write down the wrong year, but I haven't slipped that far back!
I'm reminded of my late father-in-law talking to me about random things when he suddenly said, "It was in the twenties - do you remember?" Now he had a good many years on me being born in 1929 and he expected me to...
