Could This Be the new Air Force Dress Uniform???

Somebody has to justify their job, so designing uniforms is apparently part of someone's job, whether it is needed or not.

Going to the local airport and watching the vintage biplanes take off and land.

    Show us your vintage home!

Sounds like the tudor style house has too much in disfavor for your tastes, Stearman. Keep looking for the right match. You should not compromise so much in a buyer's market. Good luck.

    Show us your vintage home!

JGS, that house is a real charmer! Do the fire places work? You have a place to take much pride in. Although the kitchen doesn't quite fit the "Victorian" look , it seems practical. Are 2 bathrooms satisfactory with 5 bedrooms?

    Horsehide vs steerhide?

Having owned many leather coats/jackets over the years, I honestly can't say it made a difference to me if it was horse or cow(steer). The only way I know which animal supplied the hide is to read the label. As Sillyrib stated it can be difficult to tell the difference. I wonder if there are...

    WW2 helmet with bullet hole

Note for Eyemo: The helmet came from the 28th Division. Those guys were certainly involved in the midst of it all after D-Day.(refer to the Tin Shed Museum in the Display forum)

    1930s and 40s Finnish Homes

I couldn't help but notice that along with the tasteful decor there was a prominent place for books in all 3 households. Nowadays, the absence of books is sadly the norm.

Lycoming Aircraft Engine Factory during WW2

Thank your for the pics, Two Types. Williamsport is only 35 miles north of my home and I have been there. Lycoming was a major employer during the War years. Those days of bustling business are sadly no more.

    New 1940's Museum.

Eyemo, The 28th Division memorial grounds and museum isonly 25 miles from here in Boalsburg. I have attended many events there. Each spring (in May) a tribute is given to the fallen soldiers from all wars. It is quite a show with hundreds of active duty 28th members present and all kinds of...

Buzz Rickson's A-2 repro. of the Aero 21996

Grayland, If you do some serious comparisons you can find the "perfect" fit without breaking the bank. For half of what the BR costs you can be well satisfied. Try e-bay first for some ideas. Good luck.

    Army Air Force Insignia

In agreement with Maj.Nick. Painting the inignia on the jacket is the only way to ensure longevity. No decal can be guaranteed to hold up for any amount of time. Good luck.
