I've got to say that before I owned a pair of White's boots I never thought this mixture of extreme ruggedness and comfort was possible. They continue to amaze me and now I've got three pairs of them in varying degrees of ruggedness vs. elegance, but never uncomfortable.
check out the White's...
I would like to say, that I have made up my mind, but I guess it is only another iteration in the process.
However, on top of the alterations stated (and thankfully suggested by some of you) above, I have decided to drop the whole pocket configuration and try to turn the Mariner into a cleaner...
I am waiting for my third pair of White's to arrive. Since I got the first pair, I can hardly make myself wear something else in less good weather. Since I got the second (Farmer/Rancher with double leather soles and Vibram on top) I feel I have found the aequivalent of an Aero HWYMan in a boot...
hi Jan,
thanks a lot for your feedback.
I quite like the handwarmer pockets in other jackets, but will try them in a barnstormer one of these days to find out whether they are the right thing for me.
About Cordovan: I would like a darker colour than the regular brown FQHH and that...
Hi
I am thinking of getting an Aero Mariner. I would have loved the goat variant that JanSolo got as a customized Cheyenne, but I was told by Aero the maximum length would be 28" and I would aim for at least 34".

- a throat closure under the upper...
Congratulations!
Finally somebody took a chance and tried mid weight HH on the Highwayman.Judging from the amount of posts on how to soften FQHH around here, that should be a better choice for many.
Enjoy!
Servus,
I have a black FQHH cafe racer with two breast pockets and no side pockets.
I chose the black stuart tartan as a lining, had the collar extended to accomodate two buttons and got the plain back (no bi-swing option).
That makes it a somewhat tight fit on the bike, but that is what...
I, for one, appreciate H.Johnsons explanation very much.
Thank you!
btw: I rode my motorcycle home in the rain last night. I wore my new Aero Café Racer and even though it was just 30 minutes, it felt like I could have been going for a long time before water would get through.
You are welcome!
As to domestic acceptance of the jacket obsession: I know exactly what you are talking about. Luckily my wife is a fashion addict herself, so she has a hard time to justify any finger pointing at my admitedly insane jacket collection.
A recent addition (dark navy...
JanSolo,
this must be the best looking long Aero jacket I have ever seen.
Quit your day job and get into fashion. Whatever you do, you are wasting your time :-)
a very impressed eClairvaux
class jacket! Fits like it should, hope you'll wear it for as long as it takes to become a family member before ordering in too many siblings from Aero.
