congratulations, that's really a nice one! however I wonder if the zippered inner pocket is really practical? Can you share your experience about this?
I am now settled for a longer period with my three Aero's, but thinking of having Aero tinker a bit with my first, not-customized purchase...
Semi-Dress Customized
I just got another pair of White's, this time Semi-Dress with a twist.
These are my first semi-dress and I was surprised just how much lighter they are than my packers, Farmer-Rancher or Smoke Jumper's.
Anyway, here they are: all brown bull hide, toe cap, double leather...
I got my wife a Vanson Comet, which is a nice break from the usually very fragile fashion leather jackets. That being said, I have to admit that there are a number of top designers who make very nice fashion leather jackets, albeit pricey. Among them Gareth Pugh and Loewe of Madrid should be...
That's a beauty and great fit too! I chose the corduroy pocket lining for my cheyenne as well and love it! Wish I would have done that on my other two Aero's as well.
great idea- but agreeing that the meeting wouldn't work :-(
However the custom ordering form is technically (and therefore moneywise) not that complicated. I would say, as I am designing solutions like that, it would be difficult to spend more than ten days on actually programming a rather...
I suffer from the same condition.
I've got three pairs of White's, though no Semi-Dress (yet), the Wesco Boss and the Lewis Westway and still ordered a pair from Rufflanders/William Lennon last November. The delivery has been postponed because of some shortage of supplies (or so they say)...
I believe the seal "jerky" A-2 mid-weight horsehide is a very fine alternative. I have been wearing it for most of this winter and can say nothing but the best about it. It does make the jacket a little lighter, but not much less sturdier as far as I can tell from these first few months.
I love them too and have the Duck Traditional Coat/Arctic Quilt-Lined jacket, which is surprisingly warm for the weight, extremely hard wearing (i use it for work around the house and putting snow-chains on etc.), which a friend brought from the US.
However Carhartt Europe has a workwear and a...
The westways are rather light-weight in comparison to any of the other two, even when considering that they are also at least 4" shorter, I'd say.
They are indeed good for being on your feet the whole day, but you would be well advised to use some aftermarket insoles, as they don't have much...
I own and use three kinds of boots that might file under engineer boots (with a bit of a stretch to the definition):
austrian rail worker boots (mine are black though)
Ludwig Reiter has a similar style, costing thrice as much.
These must be the best winter boots I have tried and I...
have to second this. The jeans look straight forward, none of the too fancy details many others have. But 21oz denim feels so good after some breaking in. Perfect winter jeans.
I am considering getting a long jacket or short coat for my wife. I plan to start from the LHB and loose some details and add some others. The leather will most certainly be mid-weight HH and the lining Alpacca.
I have a certain look in mind that I saw a few years back, but I don't know yet...
Congratulations!
Generally the HWYMan is a little "boxy", which is something I like. I also have a cafe racer and that is much trimmer. That's nice and just right for that style, but not so much for the HWYMan, i think (and so does Aero, it seems).
I am cinching down my HWYMan a bit, but...
i wore my HWY Man all through last winter for everything but formal occasions and winter sports. Temperatures were as low as -15 degrees in the Alps, where I spend most of my time. I had absolutely no issues with the leather being noticeably stiff, let alone showing any cracks. I did feel that I...
I read a very interesting biography of Bernard de Clairvaux a few years ago. Bernard lived from 1090 – August 20, 1153 and was a Frankish abbot and the primary builder of the reforming Cistercian monastic order. He was one of the most influential theologists in his day and more or less the...
I find this talk of "socialism" in this respect disturbing and disrespectful towards those that have suffered in socialist countries and those that still do. It is also rather ignorant, given the health care reform leads to a situation that is the norm for the past 100 years in countries like...
