I just got my Schaefer vest in the mail and it was a bit too snug as I kind of started suspecting it might be. I carefully removed the elastic sinch from the back, you can't even tell it was ever there and now I can wear it. I generally used to a more relaxed fit if you will, this is snug but...- TLW '90

Nothing fancy or cool looking today, just the woolrich reversible which has become one of my favorites from a standpoint of warmth utility and comfort. I've got the deerskin vest on underneath, but that will change if the Schaefer wool vest arrives today like it's supposed to.- TLW '90

Interesting, I've never thought of wearing a vest over a jacket, but that doesn't look too bad. I mostly like the kind of vests meant to be worn under a jacket though. I have 1 vest that's a little larger might go okay over a jacket, but I don't think I have any jackets I could wear under it...- TLW '90

I found this vest cheap on Ebay a year ago and took a gamble on it. Made by a company who normally breeds and auctions cattle but for some reason decided to venture into offering a wool vest. This pioneer wear suede vest is another real favorite of mine, it's such a great quality piece and the best part is that it cost me all of $17. I've had good luck finding vests for well under $100 on Ebay and I don't know if I'll ever pay over that.- TLW '90

No. There's a tag telling me what the lining is made of, but that's it. The brand is Deerskin trading post, but just because that's the brand doesn't mean they only used Deerskin.- TLW '90

I will be doing the work myself. It may be different with some boots but with these it will be fairly straightforward. Cut the stitching to remove the outsole / midsole, trace it into some leather, hand sew the new leather midsole to the upper, then with the boot on my cobblers anvil I'll glue...- TLW '90
