I just got my Schaefer vest in the mail and it was a bit too snug as I kind of started suspecting it might be.
I carefully removed the elastic sinch from the back, you can't even tell it was ever there and now I can wear it.
I generally used to a more relaxed fit if you will, this is snug but...
Nothing fancy or cool looking today, just the woolrich reversible which has become one of my favorites from a standpoint of warmth utility and comfort.
I've got the deerskin vest on underneath, but that will change if the Schaefer wool vest arrives today like it's supposed to.
It all works together against them though, and there are negative side effects of the pricing aside from them just costing too much.
Many people who don't know any better will most definitely assume they're getting a high quality premium product for the money.
Why do you think so many cry " the...
They accepted my offer, and I just scored a brand new Schaefer outfitters Cattle baron vest for quite a good deal.
Since it is new, here's a stock photo from their website
I was looking at the Schaefer Outfitters Cattle Baron wool vest on their website, but they don't seem to currently offer my size.
Anyways I found one in my size on Ebay new with tags, so I submitted an offer and am waiting to see if it's accepted.
Interesting, I've never thought of wearing a vest over a jacket, but that doesn't look too bad.
I mostly like the kind of vests meant to be worn under a jacket though.
I have 1 vest that's a little larger might go okay over a jacket, but I don't think I have any jackets I could wear under it...
I have all of my Christmas shopping done, so I'll be starting my search for another vest here soon.
I've found a few that interest me already, but I'll keep looking over the next few weeks and see what I find.
I'm leaning towards another wool vest, asherpa lined suede vest like I had when I was...
I found this vest cheap on Ebay a year ago and took a gamble on it.
Made by a company who normally breeds and auctions cattle but for some reason decided to venture into offering a wool vest.
This vest is quite awesome with 2 layers of some thick substantial dense wool.
I really love it, but...
This pioneer wear suede vest is another real favorite of mine, it's such a great quality piece and the best part is that it cost me all of $17.
I've had good luck finding vests for well under $100 on Ebay and I don't know if I'll ever pay over that.
No.
There's a tag telling me what the lining is made of, but that's it.
The brand is Deerskin trading post, but just because that's the brand doesn't mean they only used Deerskin.
I will be doing the work myself.
It may be different with some boots but with these it will be fairly straightforward.
Cut the stitching to remove the outsole / midsole, trace it into some leather, hand sew the new leather midsole to the upper, then with the boot on my cobblers anvil I'll glue...
The thing is that there can be no one size fits all assessment standard that people seem to be expecting or something.
You have to take into account the price, the purpose, and whether the marketing is honest or deceptive.
2 nearly identical boots can receive different opinions for various...
