Aerial Star Vintage Leather Jackets - Official Affiliate Thread

Thanks Nick. I'm going to order in size 42", the measurements they have on their website seem good to me although maybe i'd like half an inch or an inch more lenght. But from what you said it seems I can ask Chirs for a slightly longer back length right? It jackets aren't in stock yet so he has...

Aerial Star Vintage Leather Jackets - Official Affiliate Thread

Thanks for the photos and the feedback Nick, I think the jacket looks great! You're feedback encouraging. Considering the 3 payment options I think it's great. I'm really tempted. Can I just ask, you got a size 40" - what's your height and what size suit jacket do you usually get? And weight /...

    Gloves

With winter approaching (kind of, at some point I guess), I'm thinking of getting a new pair of gloves. I like the USAAF A-10 and see several jacket makers sell them (Aero, US Authentic for example)... Anyone owns a pair and have any recommendations? Any other gloves to consider, in "aviator"...

    Starin' and dreamin'

I'll drink to that! I'm actually dying for the weather to get worst just so I can wear my jackets more, and - most of all - to justify my next purchase!

Gary Eastman Type A-2 Flight Jacket Indetification Manual

Do you have / recommend this book? Not sure if there is already a thread on A-2 jackets books, presume there is. I've got A-2 & G-1 Flight Jackets: Hell-Bent for Leather. It's not bad, but a bit too much focuss on the G-1 and post-war models. Doesn't really go in much detail about the...

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Thanks, seems like 42 should be my default size although clearly will depend on the brand/ contract....

Aerial Star Vintage Leather Jackets - Official Affiliate Thread

Ok, Chris kindly replied, and good news for non-US buyers (at least in the UK) - the jacket can be paid in 3 monthly instalments, and also you don't pay until you've received the jacket, tried it on and confirmed you like it! He's told me he's happy to pay some of the shipping costs (up to $25)...

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Thanks Archbury, actually, I'm a member too! But for some reason I haven't used VLJ yet... I'll do so from now on!

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Well, I'm 6ft1", 34" waist and wear size 40" suit jackets. Not sure what this translates to given all manufacturers and contracts have different sizing... Trying to get an idea from Aero right now (Holly) as to what size I should be. She recons size 42, with some adjustments to sleeves/ body...

Aerial Star Vintage Leather Jackets - Official Affiliate Thread

Jackets look really good, and I like the multiple payment options. After all one of the key hurdles for us A-2 enthusiasts is the price…. I emailed Chris via their website to check how the payments / shipping options work for non-US customers.

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Thanks all, happy to see I'm not the only one who suffered this way :) although sorry that you've had to endured these kind of disappointments too. I've decided I'll stop looking into the cheaper options. It seems like it’s a recipe for disaster in most case… I'll be patient, sell a few items...

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

I've been trying to avoid getting sucked in the more expensive brands... so far... but I think I'll inevitably end up going that route! Thanks

Never heard of them but will go check out the thread! Just saw the website and the jackets do look really nice. Thanks!

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Thanks Worf, I'll try to post some pictures some time soon. I paid $300 for it (in the UK). Think they sell for less in the US (around $200 max usually even less). I can't return to the seller, I can always get the alterations done myself but I don't mind the cut too much, more the leather. As...

Flight Apparel Industries - major disappointment

Weel, I just received a Flight Apparel Industries A2 I bought on eBay and… I can’t hide my disappointment… Now, I’m still new to the A2 obsession syndrome compared to most of you (been about a year), and can’t spend on an Aero or ELC and such, or at least not yet… So I thought I’d go for a more...
