    The elusive block and flange

I tell ya, I used to think 52 blocks were the straightest sided blocks one could find........until I bought a couple "Columbia" blocks. My Columbia blocks, no matter what size, and how tall, are the straightest and flat topped blocks one could find. (Unless you buy the actual flat topped and...

    Re-blocking to Long Oval.

Ole, I have also experienced the same issue as Art mentioned. The rounding jack follows the base of the block, so a long oval block with throw the brim measurements slightly off. If the hatter were to use a "circle" template with a hole in the middle and cut around that in a perfect circle, the...

FOR SALE - EARLY 1900's STETSON Select Quality Heather Brown Longhair SZ 7

Thanks, Gentlemen. Alan, this particular long hair was a pleasure to tame. The nap was so incredibly even that just some steam and very careful brushing left the finish silky and shinny.

    Post New Hats Here!

Considering the Expo Medal Logo says MCMXV, its no earlier than 1915 and in my opinion no later than the mid 20's or so. The VVVVVVVVVV stitching on the sweatband and off center reed tie makes me think it from the late teens/early 20's. Also, I have seen old Stetson ads with hats that use that...

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

The crown appeared low in the auction photos, but is actually a full 5 3/4. It also has a very rare early Stetson reorder label that I have only seen once before. The other is in a Derby that I own. I believe both hats are early 1900's.

    Lovely Liners

They are very neat. I won that hat from ebay about 2 weeks ago. The liner is a beautiful stiffer raw silk. The diamond pattern has appeared on hats before and though not exact, looks similar to the 1920's Longley Imperial I own....

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

I will be posting some updated pictures of this one in the next day or two. Its an incredible hat with a gorgeous longhair finish once it was brushed. It has the flattest flange I have ever seen on a dress hat. Even after the steam reactivated the shellac, the flange stayed flat. Unfortunately...

1920's Marathon Black Velour UPBRIM fedora SZ 7 1/4

Thanks, Justin. If it fit me, I would keep it. I posted it on the Lounge for a very good and low price, but no interest was sparked. I think from now on every hat I have to sell is going strait to eBay. I am not going to offer it here first anymore.

Its been relisted. Couldn't even break $100 bucks. Just unreal. Should have put "whippet" in the title..... It's in fixed auction format now. Make me an offer.
