1940's (?) Horsehide Half Belt Upgrade!

Thanks for the compliments. Regarding the zipper, its what camme on jacket from the auction. Its an older crown from before they stopped production. It actually works out better that he put it higher to the collar and it has a bit more bottom split to allow for easier sitting when zipped up. I...

1940's (?) Horsehide Half Belt Upgrade!

Here is the best I could make of it being worn. Please excuse the clothing and the bug/leaf or whatever landed on my tee at this moment! And the background isn't the prettiest :) I'm getting ready for work and hurried outside to make the shots. What do you think? Does it fit alright?

1940's (?) Horsehide Half Belt Upgrade!

Hi Everyone, Happy holidays! In the wee hours this morning I brought home my vintage halfbelt after my friend called and said he was finishing it up and wanted me to stop and get it after I was done work at midnight today. When I got to his shop I saw it was still not completed so it...

    Here's an idea: A-2 Briefcase

P.s. my friend works on all my vintage jackets, G1s and he is working on my old HH HB now. He said he was done with doing attaches, but he may consider if I ask him.

    Here's an idea: A-2 Briefcase

PM me your info and if you want I will ask my friend to see if he will make this for you. If the idea is practical I know he can make it. He used to make suitcases and bags for years and was considered top in the field.

Found A-2 while vintage shopping NYC

I may be wrong, and apologize. Can we go forward? Anyway, I was asked not to do anything to the jacket because someone wants to buy it from me as is. But its perplexing why the thought of leaving as is, is desireable. Wouldnt you think you would want to condition it for preservation if you put...

If you accept my honest, objective view, you really did describe your posting behaviors as well. But I see where you are coming from.

HD, respectfully, I was merely pointing out why the necessity of passive aggresive replies. Im done on this subject and moving past it. I want to stick to topic of the jacket, but I am learning it cant all be compounded from making one thread. And thanks for your open and honest observation.

Wow, you know what? I was genuine and real when I complimented your kid. I sent you a birthday well wish on the other forum, and I spoke up in your defense when you were already admonished by a bartender here when that one guy kept digging up old posts about the B3 or whatever jacket that was...

Okay, to clear the accusation...I just read through all 8 pages of every post I made on that other forum and no where do I see me writing anything even remotely close to what you are accusing me of. This is lame!

Excuse me. When I joined it was fun to read this forum. Now in recent past I see a boatload of passive aggressive replies to many threads as if the emotional maturity level dropped off the map, and bartenders that pipe up to protect this behavior doesnt make it lessen. There is a difference...

Listen, I know and anyone with half a brain knows, the internet is an abused substance and people take liberties they wouldnt in person with others (unless they have a true mental illness), but how old are you? Ever hear the popular phrase of "if you cant say something nice"...? Its evident you...

Gentleman, please, stop trying to make a red rot rumor on this jacket. The leather on it is not otherwise abnormal, nor flaking, nothing indicates leather diseases so please, no more prognosis wanted, okay? This jacket isnt dying anytime soon :)

Parts do have some pebbled grain, and some parts, striated veiny grain, and the majority overall is flat and smooth.

If you notice the lining there is torn. Its making the label off center since its no longer intact. Im still befuddled on what the leather is made of, its so soft. Im thinking, did horse come thin in these originally or could it be cow? There is too much smooth large ungrained areas to say its goat.

Found A-2 while vintage shopping NYC

Today I went to NYC with family and a friend and in unexpected fashion, I discovered a vintage shop that had some really nice leather jackets from the 30s to the 60s. Some great jackets and I will strive to become a regular there. When I first walked in I spied mouton collars on the rack and upon...
