    The School of Hard Knox

FANTASTIC, Alan!! Could you please let me know what the brim measurements are? It looks like 2 1/2 inches wide plus another 1/4 inch for the curl. So 2 3/4 including the pencil curl? Pictures can be deceiving.

    Post New Hats Here!

I once owned a Stetson Supper Club almost exactly like that. It was black felt with reddish-purpleish ribbon and brim binding. Very classy homburg. Same proportions as a standard St. Regis, but I think the Supper Club was a "fancier" version of the St. Regis.

    The Dobbs Diner...

Thanks, Brad! I knew I had seen one of these before. I actually did not remember the Bunker hat ad, even though its super cool. I thought I had seen an old Dobbs newspaper ad from the 30's that showed these grosgrain hats, but i've seen so many hat ads, I could totally be mistaken. Hopefully...

    The Dobbs Diner...

1930's Dobbs Grosgrain Tuxedo Fabric Hat (part 1) Here's a super rare hat that I picked up a few months ago. I know I have seen this type of hat in a vintage advertisement, but I can not for the life of me find the ad. The entire hat body is made up of gray felt that has been stitched all the...

    Pre 1940s dress hats

STEVE......AMAZING haul!!! Those pre-war hats are just spectacular!! The 2 Echter Borsalino pencil curled upbrims are, in my opinion, the perfect style of hats. I am a sucker for early upbrims and pencil curls, and those two definitely do not disappoint. And the finish on that Hückel Loden....it...

    Post New Hats Here!

That's actually a VERY nice straw body for $60. Looks like what Stetson (Hatco) would call their Grade 20 panama. Interesting though, the woven edge is not something I have seen on modern Stetson straws because most of them are stitched and cut. The Stetson "Medalist" designation wasn't so much...
