Was trying to give this hat away and couldn’t find any takers. I was bored yesterday so spent some time hitting it with stiffener and steam and it came out beautifully for a beat old hat. Was the perfect thing for a trip to the farmers market.

It’s amazing to me that—correct me if I’m wrong—the vintage hat companies didn’t adjust the proportions of the brims to the size. A strat was a 2 3/4 brim whether you were 6 7/8 or 7 5/8, right? Seems crazy.
Well you are clearly just a talented dude! When you get to the recreations phase of your operation let me know if you have any gray 7 1/8 stock that needs a customer attached. ;)
It’s amazing to come across one like this. A NOS 1950s Royal De Luxe Open Road. I steamed a first gentle crease into it. Beautiful deep gray color with closely matched ribbon and binding. 2 5/8 brim. Just as good as it gets.
