On the brown suit...
I see this sellers stuff all the time on ebay and it often catches my eye. Where does she find all the pristine and gorgeous vintage she sells. Is it magic?;)
I LOVE YOUR HAT. It seems like the netting might be pretty easy to get off, but I imagine it might not be as easy to get the right drape again if you put different on. Would you use red?
I'm addicted to patterns and fabric. And now I have amassed so much unused of each that I MUST NOT buy any more until I make what I have. But Ebay is a cruel goddess and she tempts me...;)
Adorable vintagey jacket at Wal Mart
Just bought this yesterday and it is super cute, cheap and actually cozy! To me it looks like something Lucy would wear to go camping.

Patterns are always a good resource to find pictures. I just made a pair of 40's overalls. I keep meaning to take a picture for the "look what I made" thread. If I can get it together, I will try to take a picture of the pattern too and post it here. I guess that doesn't help you for 50's...
Really cute. I am also strangely drawn to these in the red:

They are kind of "wicked witch of the west-ish", but I really like them.

So, I am new to the lounge (as a member) but I have been poking around for quite some time. I love the vintage style. Clothes, my home, movies, you name it ...I love it.
Anyway, I am super excited to start being a part of the conversations around here. Nice to meet...
I think a red hat would be gorgeous. Especially one with a nice wide brim. And a poinsetta bouquet would also be lovely. When my sister got married at Christmastime, I made her a silk flower bouquet. I took a large poinsetta and added more poinsetta petals around it to make an extra grand...
Try a friend
My lovely sister took the picture for my avatar. I just printed out old publicity stills from online to get ideas for poses. Then we made the photos black and white on the computer. Not too shabby...and free!
Coincidence
First of all, hello. I am new and this is all new to me. Congratulations on those outfits. I was actually watching both of them on ebay myself. So cute. Especially the pink.
