Just put in an order for Panama Bobs Cuenca Sombrero De Paja Toquilla in Natural. I emailed him earlier and was told a 2" brim was doable. Pretty stoked to get a good summer hat!
now i need some summer duds to help show it off!

I've been eyeing that milan Bob, looks good on you. that is great milan also Trevi.
Cool secret compartment Alan. i can imagine a prohibition rum runner lead man with a compartment like that hidden beneath the guns and the hooch!
Latest buy for me a Saxon that should be my last for a while if i...
The Stylemaster was the "other" hat on my mind. i kept going back and forth between the two. I think right now since i am so new to hats still, the Saxon is a great fit. the brim is just large enough without feeling too large for me. When i first jumped into a hat, it was into a 2.5" brimmed hat...
Does this look right to everyone? i feel like the ribbon may have been placed too high. This is my first new hat, so im not sure if that extra "bump" between the ribbon and the brim eventually gets worked out, but it just seemed odd to me.
also, is it normal for a stetson to show the sewing...
Thanks Moon, & Dave. Took all of 45 minutes of getting used to the larger brim. at 2", the brim felt large at first, but after playing with the curl and snapping it up/down, im really glad i went for it.
I think i'll break this guy in good. not sure how long i can keep the original bash. i...
First (new) fine hat. the Stetson Saxon from DelMonico's. Wife and kids let me pick out my Father's Day gift and it came in today
2" brim in graphite. first outing tomorrow with more pictures to come. Definitely going to be my signature hat!

It's a looker. I like the brim width and keep bouncing back and forth between a 2" and a 2 1/2" for my next hat. i cant seem to find a 2 1/4 stetson in graphite, which is what im after. The closest i get is 2 3/8" which seems like it would look closer to 2 1/2 rather than 2 1/4 even though its...
ingineer: that IS a beautiful hat!
i did notice everyone posting at least one Akubra since i began lounging around. im a little hesitant about the brim length though. i tried a 2.5" hat at first and it seemed too big for me. i think i have to let my tastes evolve into being able to wear a brim...
wow that caribou is pretty dark as well. i do have a stetson that i got off eBay that is what i assume is graphite, its listed as DK Grey and is the perfect color (just need a bigger brim!)
very true to color pictures
i think its graphite, just want to make sure... itll be my last hat for a...
i know... i feel like a tool asking... lol. i have searched and i do sometimes see the exact shade i want which im sure is lighting. i think ill go for it, worst case scenario i end up with a dark nice hat!
ohh... and delicious, a steak is delicious, especially if it is medium rare! mmm...

can anyone describe the color of a graphite stetson? i cant get a definitive answer when i google. most look black, but some look like a pencil lead grey which is what im after. any links to accurate pictures would be appreciated. i am on the fence between a caribou or the graphite.

this is a terrific thread. being the first in my family, in my memory, to wear fedoras, id like to think I will influence my kids to dressing presentable at all times and always wearing a good hat. i like the folded emergency money in the hat and was thinking of adding a picture of the wife and...
eBay Stetsonian with a 1.75" brim. After lounging around here and wearing my other 2" brim hats, im thinking of trying at least a 2.25" if not back to a 2.5" that i tried as my first hat but thought it was too much brim for me. It felt good to wear this hat without a nice shirt on, just to prove...
wearing my second hat, first kept since i returned the first with a 2.5" brim, at my nephew's birthday party. Scala crushable fedora hat

ill have to look into those. i was thinking buying a lysol aerosol spray and dousing them for starters... thanks HRM. i definitely want to avoid any creepy crawlers! the hat will have to stay in the box a little longer i guess
