I'd be interested to know about ordering from Uncle Fezter as well... I've made some hair flowers on my own with some pretty decent results, but I want to buy one to put on a hat and want an extra-beautiful, professional one. Uncle Fezter's flowers are gorgeous!
^Thank you! I guess that's why my red lips never seem to look bad with pink clothing - because I can only wear cool reds. :o
Neither coral pinks nor warm, orangey reds look good on me, so I'm in the clear.
Just wanted to pipe up here: I've been having my hair permed every 4-5 months for the last year and a half or so (maybe a little less). It really is not a vintage look on its own (well, it's a vintage 80s jazzercize look, I guess)- you will still need to set your hair.
However! The good...
I know that some of you ladies are bound to know this one: are red lips and nails taboo with pink clothing? [huh]
I don't wear a lot of pink, but I've got an outfit on the way that is pink and white gingham, and I'm wondering how bad it would be to just wear it with my usual nail polish and...
I seem to have a similar problem to many women here: I have a Veronica Lake body (literally! 4'11", 34-23-34) and it's hard to find bras that offer support without creating at least a modest cleavage. Sometimes that shows even in vintage or vintage-inspired looks.
I work from home, but I do...
deadpandiva - you and your sister both look beautiful, and the hair is just fantastic! If you were overdressed, I'm sure you were still the best-dressed ladies there.
ExquisiteBones, don't feel bad, and especially don't feel self-conscious. My boyfriend is not a fan of my vintage look. He wishes I would wear "normal" clothes and thinks I look cutest when I wear glasses, a sweater and some jeans. I didn't know all that until recently, and it made me feel...
lol I'm only 4'11", so if I ate too much more I'd be a little globe.
Anyway, here are the earrings I got for my birthday. They're super sparkly and pretty, and they don't irritate my hyper-sensitive ears! They have a great weight to them, too, and don't feel or look cheap in any way.

Yeah, I take four-minute showers. Leg-shaving happens with the water off. If it's a long shower, then no, I don't think baths are more wasteful, but I try to keep it short.
I've been brainwashed by all the years in green-a-go-go Seattle. ;)
I know this thread has been dead for awhile, but a friend bought me a piece from this company for my birthday. They're earrings and the quality is very nice. I ordered something from them today because I was so impressed, and the customer service has been excellent! :eusa_clap
My only...
I would love to take baths every day (and I have fibromyalgia, so my body would probably like it too), but I just can't get over the wastefulness. I use so much less water when I just take a shower that I can't justify more than a bath or two a month when my muscles and joints really hurt. :o
Laura that hairstyle really looks fantastic on you! When I saw it and before I read your post, I immediately thought of Clara Bow, so you must be doing something right. ;)
I agree, but I figured that someone might still be interested. I like that they fold up and can just be wiped clean, and I would definitely buy them if they made them small enough for me.
Early on in this thread, someone brought up overshoes, and I recently found a company that launched a line of boots similar to the overshoes people used to wear: http://www.shuella.com/
Sadly, like everything else, they don't come in my size. :( I'm a 4/34.
Seriously! That is some beautiful hair.
Emer, I love the pinned-back 'do. If you ever take a picture from the side, please make sure to post it - I'd love to see how it looks.
