I love buying quaity pre-worn dress shoes. I've had years of ecpdrience with AEs and just stumbpled accross Adlens and love them even more. I have one pair of Hanover LB Sheppards
and love them. I want to try Florsheim Imperials, but how do I know if they are from the days when they made...
Consider any of the Gillette adjustables. They are all very mild and you can pick you blade strength by adjusting. Most say "The Fatboy" is the best of the Gillette adjustables. Also remember your blade is a big variable. Vintage blades are still available but without the modern finish they a...
I have a pair mint shape, 1980s vintage, shell cordovan Hanover LB Shepards I purchased on Ebay. The size on the inside says 11C/A. The seller sold them as 11A, but they fit great, in spite of being 11C/A. New AAA/A width Aldens fit, most new A width AEs are to wide for my narrow heel. Ten to...
I have a beautiful twenty year old brown, flight type, leather jacket. I had it redyed five years ago and now in some places the first layer of skin is leaving. Can anyone give me tips on referbishing?
,My favorite pair is a Hanover L.B. Shepard's from the 1980, in a burgundy plain toe in shell cordovan.
Lots of customers must have cried when Hanover left the quality shoe business.
I've sent many pair of men's dress shoes back to Allen Edmunds for recrafting. The price was over $100 and they do come like new. I know Alden does the same and a company out of NYC called B. Nelson will do any brand. Find their web site on your search engine.
I love, collect and wear quality dress shoes. Most i buy on Ebay estate sales. I have two pair that have rubber soles and the rest have leather soles. I live in northern MN so the problem is walking with leather soles on ice, during our long Winters. The older I get the less i like the idea...
I know the Alden Shoes I own are all combination last, meaning the heel is two sizes narrower than the front of the shoe. Is this true with AEs? Some of my older AE say "Combo" on the inside of the shoe, next to shoe size, but the newer AEs don't tell, I have asked a sales person at my AE store...
I have bought AEs for many years and have just found Aldens in the last year. I wear an 11A and have a very narrow heel. My two Aldens with differnet last, all fit great, while the recent AE 11A vary greatly in heel width.
So for fit and quality I am hooked on Aldens.
