It is tagged a 44 but it fits like a 40, (after the shrinkage).

It has been said that the only reliable way to tell horsehide from cowhide (steerhide), is by doing DNA testing. They can be so similar looking. So I have heard from by others who know more than me.
My sad experience with Spearhead.

Here are pictures of the 2nd jacket sent to me. The jacket is so stiff, it stands on its own. As you can see, the color spray has...
I normally wear a size 40 or 42. I ordered a size 40 G&B civilian A2 in black goatskin. The 40 was too large for me, so I exchanged for a 38, and it fits great.
I bought an Aero FQHH Halfbelt in brown, and it came to me not broken in, and very stiff, and a size too large. After hot water/drying procedure, I applied Pecards, and it is now very pliable, flexible, and loose and looks broken in, and fits me much better. I too like Pecards. It always...
I always thought goat would not shrink much, but after applying the water treatment to a goatskin Gibson & Barnes jacket, I have to report that it will shrink quite a bit. If after a while the natural wrinkling at the sleeves doesn't bring the sleeve length to the desired level, wet the...
I have applied the MASH decals myself. Using the kit from MASH Japan. Its not hard. The kit is 5,500 yen. Includes 3 decals. This is on my ELC 27752

I would not use hot water on this jacket
I own a few ELC A2s and they are all cut fuller, for some reason. I have some Goodwear jackets, and the Monarch, and Doniger are both slim in the torso/body.
I am in the same camp as Butte. I can't help but feel you would feel more comfortable if you had a longer, and slightly looser fitting jacket, like these WWII fellas in these pictures of actual WWII personel in their A2 jackets, (these are posted on Johns site). Just my opinion...
I once bought a pair of Pivetta Italian made leather, heavy hiking boots, and before I went on my first hike, my brother, an expert backpacker, said I should use sno-seal to keep the boots from getting wet on a long hike were about to do. It did make the boots water proof, however, the leather...
It varied, or varies. Especially with the particular jacket maker. The contracts were so varied. I know, for example that some of the Roughwear contracts tended to hang over the shoulder more. Here are some pictures of actual airmen and you can see that just about every jacket looks...
