Gosh, I hate to add to the broken record effect, but I have to vote for 20s as well, with 60s a close second. Now, fair enough, I'm a 20s, early 30s girl myself, but that look does suit you, especially with that charming cloche.
The 60s saucy look is sweet on you as well. And that hairstyle...
Not much here. I don't use a commercial machine, but just take the coin collection to our bank to be sorted. If anything odd comes out, I suppose the employees gives it back, but nothing comes to mind.
I've found Canadian pennies in my coin purse now and then, and once I got a Euro 1 cent in...
We called them mimeographs in school, but I think they technically weren't - the damp, intriguing-smelling copies that came in purple. Mmmm, I can still smell the pages.
Also, my mother had some stiff wire form things that she inserted into my dad's trousers (well, Levis mostly), in order...
It's not that I see alchemy as a middleman, it's just not worth the hassle for me. When it was reintroduced, I browsed around to see what kind of requests were being made; one or two appealed to me, so I spent a lot of time designing, planning, considering materials, calculating costs, etc...
Oh dear, the Mr. has finally put his Blackadder IV dvd in the player. You know, "Blackadder Goes Forth", WWI, etc. It took me alot of effort and quite some time to be able to watch "House MD" without seeing Hugh Laurie say "bugger me with a fishfork", and now I'm back to square one.
We had a flask or two around here, from my husband's bagpiping days, and then the other week a friend gave us a couple of commemorative "downtown OKC" flasks that appear nicely slim and curved, for a stocking.
If someone needs a spare, I could possibly be persuaded to part with one.
I guess what I like best is people contacting me directly with their requests. I don't think I can undercut every person eager for a sale, answering an alchemy request. Having always been more a creator than a businessperson or a solicitor, it suits my comfort level to have people come to me...
If I were to accept a particularly complicated, likely unsellable to others, custom order through Etsy, I'd definitely require a certain up-front deposit. So far, though, all the custom creations I've had requested have been happily accepted by those who ordered them. And were of a nature that...
Let me add, there are certain artists who will say something to the effect of "if you'd like a different size/design, please let me know." In that case, that person will create what you've asked, they list the item as a reserve in your name.
When I joined Etsy, the original alchemy had been disabled, and really, the very few times I've bothered to answer a 'new and improved' alchemy request have been complete wastes of time.
I think when someone knows what they want, and from whom, they tend to bypass alchemy and deal directly...
I've listed items as 'reserved' when they were custom made for someone. Example: a person likes my style, & convos me with a request for a particular image or size of something. Because they found me via Etsy, the right thing to do is list the completed item there, rather than avoid fees and...
No kidding. I've got a picture from the late 60s of my brother and me in the bath tub together. It'd be a pretty bold parent risking such a shot today!
Yes, to the running free and loose in the neighborhood with the admonition, "be home before the streetlights come on." Summers, I'd disappear in the morning and be gone all day, exploring alleys and old sheds, riding my bike to fields and bridges down dusty roads to make secret picnics.
On...
I'm just glad this isn't a competition! ;)
A silhouette isn't exactly a doodle, but there's still a hat involved.
And maybe a crown is pushing it a bit....
Not exactly a phrase, but I find the constant pleas for blood donation annoying. Yes, blood and plasma are needed, but the restrictions have become so, well, restrictive, that it's irritating to be urged, cajoled, bribed with free t-shirts, made to feel guilty, etc. and then be turned away for...
What a gorgeous, charming house you've got there, analiebe. I don't understand people's fear of color; I mean, it's only paint - live with it for a while and change it if you don't like it. No big deal. Still, having said that, your place looks so lovely and airy as it is. And at least it's...
Accepting that we have shortcomings, and being willing to strive for a little improvement is a beautiful thing.
23's awkward date apparently bumbled through the whole thing in utter oblivion. I can imagine her trying to point out one or two of his faux paus, (not sure how to pluralize that)...
"Rabbit cooker" - that's a new one.
Diamondback, so far as I'm concerned, toadism is related to behavior (in case you think I might have been attributing it to appearance). 23Skiddoo's toad seems to have shown his warts early on; a character like that would be hard-pressed to fake anything...
