Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

Some beautiful watches. Watches and knives have been a money pit for me over the years. Except for my grandfathers old Waltham, most of my vintage watches are from the 60's and 70's. A PX sale Vietnam era O&W Early Bird 24 hour watch: A South African SADF Roamer from the Bush Wars: US...

    Pocketwatches

Dial is pretty clean, but it's a fair bit of oxidation. Inside is clean. Was serviced about 9 years ago. Serial # puts it around 1926 which makes sense. I was told he bought it shortly after coming to America in 1919.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

Hurricane, An Illustrated History by Philip Birtles is decent. I don't know about "best", but it's good. For a Battle of Britain viewing from the ground, we enjoy watching Danger UXB every so often. Good series.

    Classic vintage CANVAS TENTS

Tentsmiths is the maker. They are made of Sunbrella fabric. No floor on these, but I have an inexpensive roll out bamboo one I use that almost fills it. Mine is the one on the left. Just a standard wall tent. The one in the rear and the awning are reproductions US Army WWII tentage from...

    Classic vintage CANVAS TENTS

Thank you. It's a bit of a PITA to cart in and set up, but camping in comfort can be a blast. :)

Rare 1940 (First Version) Early War RN Duffel Coat for SALE

I assume a moderator needs to active the PM function as I still cannot send them.

    WWII Songs

For some good British soldiers songs, track down the "Sod's Opera" CD. I think I got it from Amazon UK a few years back. Great stuff.

    Classic vintage CANVAS TENTS

Meant to include some pics. It was nice have a modern well made tent this past April when we got a late season snow storm while camping. Would not have been as happy in my vintage tent... Thankfully the storm blew through and we were clear (but still very cold) 24 hours later.

    Classic vintage CANVAS TENTS

Best of luck finding an original. Even NOS will most likely be stored improperly leaving you with rotten old canvas. I have a nice a old British WWII pup tent. With a lot of work, it's still serviceable, but it's far from ideal. They were relatively common a few years ago. I gave up the...

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

There's a BSA collector at our local scout store here in West Los Angeles, but I can't find his email for you. There's a pretty strong collectors group of BSA gear out there. A little google work and I'm sure you'll track down a resource.

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

For warm/hot weather, I love my khaki drill bush jacket. Gets too warm and the sleeves roll up nicely.

    Classic Safari vehicles!

This '64 IIA was my daily driver for 10 years, but after I blew my back up I found it harder and harder to work on it (and it's always in need of work) so I passed it on to someone who could give it the attention it needs.

    45ACP Revolvers

I much prefer my S&W 1917 to my Colt New Service. Better balance and trigger, but it's a preference thing. I regret selling the Colt, but it was a Canadian military piece issued in .455Eley and converted (as many were) to .45Colt after re-importation.

Gaga for Bungalow / Craftsman / Mission

We live in a 1938 bungalow built for Douglas Aircraft management over at their old Santa Monica facility. Fun little house that works for us. Would prefer it somewhere else the way LA is, but the house itself is nice. Loved the older homes when I lived in the NE.

    Show us your Guns!

A few vintage pieces. 1893 Webley sadly converted by a previous owner to .45ACP from .455 A 1954 S&W M28 Hard to argue with the Hi Power for sexy semi-autos. This is a WWII Canadian Inglis

    Vintage Phones

We've had our 302 for about 12 years. Works great. The portables in the house are on mute so we only hear the old ringer for incoming calls. Love how it makes folks jump. No one thinks it works and it's right next to your head when you sit on the left side of the couch. :D

    Hawaiian Shirts - Aloha Shirts

LOL. Lived on Oahu from 1979~1983. Had a nice collection going which I wore into the ground. Regret not getting more. Still have a small collection of Kahala's and Reyn Spooners. My favorites are the pull over Reyns.

    Pocketwatches

This was my grandfathers Waltham. Still keeps good time and the fob and bottle opener (with the home made repair he did many moons before I was born) are great.

    30's~40's Work Boots

These RW Gentlemen Travelers have been my daily work boot/shoe for a few years. Love them. They have broken in nicely and are very comfortable. For some nice hand made work boots, I also like the my Mattimore Harness boots, but I don't wear them for work.

Rare 1940 (First Version) Early War RN Duffel Coat for SALE

:) Didn't know if questions about purchase were best left to PM's or email. Many forums don't like this type of commentary in the classified sections. I see what appears to be some moth nicks on the left breast. Any others? How is the back of the coat? Finally, wanted to ask about shipping...
