UPDATE!
So, my box of GG-esque headbands arrived the other day and I wore one--a skinny plum-colored satin with a small flat bow on the side--out to get a few drinks with my friends. One of my friends SQUEALED "That's so cute on you!" and I scored a free cocktail from a cute rockabilly...
I think dating is a nightmare, too! I recently went on a second date with a guy who hasn't tried to kiss me yet, and I couldn't help but think that he's just not that interested. On the one hand, I have always hoped to just go on a few friendly, low-pressure dates with a guy I barely know...
Hopefully this hasn't been discussed elsewhere. If so, I couldn't find it. Lately I've seen a lot of cute headbands with a ribbon bow on the side (apparently worn often on the TV show "Gossip Girl") so I bought a batch of skinny headbands with bows on the side, fabric flowers, etc.
BUT...I'm...
After I started to work more of a vintage look on a daily basis I began to use the large size (large not "jumbo") foam rollers. Here are tow pictures of me, before and after...
What I do is blow-dry my hair in sections with a big round brush until it's almost totally dry, then roll each...
I'm good with faces, but not names. I get unnerved when people I didn't actually meet--bartenders, doormen, waitresses, etc, remember me if they've only seen or met me once. I know they just are gifted with better memories than mine, but I am still creeped out by it.
I have a similar story to tell! About a year ago in the grocery store I was browsing the canned soup aisle and a little boy pointed at me and loudly asked his father, "Daddy, is that a lady or a doll?" The father replied "I'd say half and half." Awww.
There's really nothing I won't wear for fear of other's reactions, but in a big city it's easier to get away with more. If I want to wear something that would be really unusual for every day, or draw too much attention, I'll usually save it for a costume party or Halloween. I guess I just don't...
I love philosophy as well. However, I always thought that particular verse meant that nothing will be hidden from God, not Man. I do believe that as we progress, we may get more pieces of the puzzle, although the big picture is God's alone.
Hmmm, I guess Goth? I love The Cure, I look good in black, and I own a pair of spiderweb tights. I have to draw the line at filing my cuspids into points, though.
Hot colors and silhouettes are dictated by trend bureaus operating largely out of Europe. When leggings or ponchos or certain colors (right now-lemon yellow and orange for summer 09, worn with khaki or grey) are cited as THE hot new trend, these companies get the word out a year or more ahead of...
It depends who is making the call. I think the skirts, cardigans and heels I wear to my office on a daily basis are considered overdressing by many of my coworkers, who wear sweatpants, T-shirts, and Ugg boots.
I think of my wardrobe as classic, tasteful style, but I've had many comments...
I'd skip the hat and gloves, too, if "professional" is the look you're going for. Otherwise, a nice pencil skirt and blouse (with pearls?) would probably cover all your bases, unless you find a great suit.
Your new crush is kind of creepy! Really, though, what is it with mannequins coming to life in pop culture? (I fondly remember that Twilight Zone episode.)
I like to dress up for parties, and i find it awkward sometimes to be the only person at a christmas party that bothered to put on a dress And i spend the evening discussing my outfit with all the people that came in jeans.
I've had that experience before, just this past Christmas actually...
I actually keep a couple folded up in the desk of my drawer at work, and otherwise keep them in a side pocket of my purse.
I'm glad I'm not alone in still using them. I pulled one out this weekend when I sneezed on a date and the guy said "Why do you carry cloth napkins in your purse?" He...
