This can also be done with a felt hat- in this case, "The Faulkner:"
Now that spring is on its way, I have started wearing it again!!!

You're talking about an Optimo:
There are several places to get such a hat. Mine are from TFL's own PanamaBob- you can search for him here, or find him at www.panamas.biz

I have two golden retrievers, so dog hair can be a problem in my house. I brush the hat (and the dogs) about once a week, and the hat stays pretty clean!

Um... It was kind of like you described. I sent an e-mail "can you do a black fedora for me?" He said sure. Sat back, and in around 9 months he contacted me to confirm measurements and specifics. Hat showed up in around 11 months total. I had a great experience. [huh] I even ordered...
My black AB
I had Steve Delk do a black hat for me a while back, with a generic "Indyish" style to it...
No problems with religious misidentification... Lots of compliments!

Tonight I was informed of the passing of an old friend. As always, when informed of such an event, I had a Johnny Walker Blue in his memory.

Just finished The House Without A Key, By Earl Derr Biggers. Published first in 1925, it is the first Charlie Chan mystery. Captures beautifully Honolulu of the early 1920's.

I own a couple of AB's, and in both cases the wait time was over a year.
Hope that helps. What a great gift!

I'll have what she's having: a classic margarita.
1 1/2 oz silver tequila (personal favorite is Oro Azul)
3/4 oz triple sec
juice of one lime
Shaken over ice
Served in a martini glass- no salt for me!

If you wade through Ken's Camptown "Legend" post in the vendor section at COW (easier than navigating the entire Factory Made AB thread), his is not the factory hat... He's just making hats using the AB KotCS block, with permission of course. As I understand it, the Factory Hat is being made...
