    I second the vote for Blundstones. I love mine, and after almost a decade, I've had to replace them. They wear well, are comfortable, and durable. Plus, you can dress them up or down.

    Blundstones are actually pretty lightweight. They're an Australian brand, and worth the wait if you need to order them through the mail. http://www.blundstone.com/ The 500's are the original, I think, but I just upgraded to the 550 when my last pair bit the dust.
