    It is kind of weird and boxy, isn’t it? A curved yoke would be more appealing. The short collar looks better flipped up. It seems like everyone around here always wears the collars folded down.

    It’s not wax? Often waxy leathers develop a coating when left to sit—that leaches out of the leather. If it’s that, you should be able to buff it away with a dry cloth.

    Browsing eBay is a hobby, and I probably buy at least one thing a week. I haven’t noticed any changes, really, but I’m always careful to look for what is said (and not said) in a listing and scrutinize pics. And I generally assume omitted info means an issue until proven otherwise.
