The Decline of the Well Put Together Lady

What I neven understood is how men can walk around with a trashy dressed lady, and feel proud too. I never got that.

    Make & Mend for Victory

Thanks for the ideas ladies. My cooking habits have always been like that, mainly because we don't eat ready food. I get the ingredients and then use them for many recipes. I freeze the meat, which I divide in smaller portions before it goes in the freezer etc. So there is no waste there. I was...

    Letters, Anyone?

Not anymore, but it was something my friends and I used to do for years and years during the summer months. Recieving a letter in the mail has always been one of my greatest joys. No you only have to expect bills, I'm afraid.

What did you do in the war Daddy...?

I am perfectly aware of that, that is why I used the word in quotation marks. I happen to have a lot of recpect for historical facts, and the story about the photo was told to us (university students) by our professor, in a class about mass media and propaganda. This particular photo was the...

Try this link http://web.archive.org/web/20070102203019/http://vintagesewing.info/1940s.html This is my main source for patterns of the era, as there is no market here for the vintage sewing patterns you girls find. I don't buy from e-bay etc, so... The site has other books as well, sewing...

    Could these work for vintage?

This looks like a great pattern. I think that many 70s patterns feel 1940s. Maybe they were in fashion somehow.

    Could these work for vintage?

Yes, they are burda. I have them from the magazine though. That style of pants they called marlenehose. As in Marlene Dietrich! So they must have had a vintage feel in mind. It's NR. 104-102010-DL on their site. At least they don't have pleats-they make me look huge! I prefer darts.
