I think poodlefaker ("A young man too much given to tea parties and ladies' society generally (often for social advancement)", not the illicit and highly rephrensible act of counterfeiting small and annoying dogs) could do with revival.
Supper, as I have been brought up with it, is a meal that follows the evening meal, perhaps two or three hours after. Breakfast, Luncheon, Dinner, Supper.
Quite, but the point isn't that other forms of discrimination are not present, rather that height is the only one that remains acceptable to admit to in polite society. I find that intriguing. It is even considered poor taste at best to say that you want your partner to be aesthetically pleasing.
On Christmas Eve my mothers family have a supper and present giving session at my grandmothers house.
Then we have the full blown English Christmas Day luncheon. Roast turkey, stuffing, ham, roast vegetables, peas etc. Followed by Christmas pudding, the apotheosis of pudding, with brandy...
I've nothing against tall people, but I wouldn't want my daughter to marry one.
I find it odd that height seems to be one area where its still socially acceptable to discriminate in such a manner, as opposed to, say, skin colour which is another quirk of genetics the individual has no control...
I don't suppose anyone here knows of an Australian vintage appliace restoration service? Preferably in Victoria. I was given what I believe to be a 1960s (the model number is worn away and the serial number partly gone so its hard to be sure) Kelvinator refrigerator but it is in rather dire straits.

The weddings aren't in this...
My sister just received a coat-dress from Trashy Diva, pictures below. She is thrilled with it, fits like it was made for her and is extremely well constructed. The pictures were taken almost immediately after it arrived, so forgive the creases and whatnot.
It was her first attempt at...
I do know there have only been a handful of deaths linked to unpasteurised cheese in France since 1996 or so, how this affects pregnant women I wouldn't venture to say. If you speak French you could always see if the French government/medical establishment offer similar advice, that would give...
Can't go wrong with ham, cheese and(or?) mustard sandwiches, so long as the ham is good and the cheese a fine cheddar (or gruyere, I suppose). Plain, fried or toasted.
I generally dine at a good restaurant on the way home from University, by necessity on my own. It is rather nice to be able to just sit and think while enjoying the meal.
My pleasure, do post a review when you receive them, I'm dying to know what they are like. I've been wanting a pair myself but need to wait until I've stopped shrinking.
I just had my first vintage sighting today. A young woman in Smith street at around four this afternoon wearing a white dress with some kind of red print, seamed stockings and I'm fairly certain her hair was done in a vintage style. Sadly I only spotted her as she was decanting from the tram so...
I like the look of the Magnoli grey flannels, I've not had any hands on experience with them however:
