Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

Nah...the best videogame 1911 ever was in VietCong. :D

Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

Meh. Plastic doesn't do much for me. I want steel. Lots of steel. lol

Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

Mmmm....collection. Speaking of, my next is going to set me back a whopping $129.95. I love working at a gun shop. :D

Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

Jovan - Yes. Both have the same type of finish, though the 1911 came from the factory that way. I find the finish on the revolver more attractive, but the auto is beginning to wear nicely. I plan to acquire and park a Model 10 soon, though it may be a while. CB - Partially wear and...

    How Many of us Write?

Well...I restarted mine. Again. On the plus side, it gets more retro every time. Hmmm....:D

Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

If you want a 1917, hit the local gun shows and pawnshops and looking for a Brazilian contract model. Basically, a U.S.-made S&W shipped by the tens of thousands south. The only difference is in the stamps (no US Property or flaming bomb marks, and a rather prominent national crest on the side...

Smith and Wesson Model 22 Revolver .45 ACP

The repro guns are nice...but they aren't like the old ones. We have three in the case where I work (a Chief's Special, a Model 21, and a Model 22) and while they show considerably more craftsmanship than some of the other items, the originals just have a different...feel. It's difficult to...

    Thanks, all. :D

    Shoulder holsters?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong place - if so, then by all means move it). By chance, would anyone here happen to know anything about shoulder rigs prior to the Second World War? I have a friend who's looking to find something that'd fit in during the early to mid '30s, but it's apparently...

    Post Your Short Stories

I got part of one I wouldn't mind posting, but I think I'll hold back. The language might be considered excessive to some. Plus it's part of a much longer story, and I don't have much done. [huh]

    Vintage Heat?

If I may venture a guess, I'd say they connect to the sword hangers on a Sam Browne belt. Yeah...pretty sure that's not the terminology, but...what can you do?

    Vintage Heat?

    Certainly. :rage:

    Vintage Heat?

Yeah, but with a flamethrower you gotta wear the asbestos suit. I don't care how good it is - that stuff itches.

    Vintage Heat?

...it seems I've been drawing again. At any rate, I have one of these (tragically, the PC version) and love it. At short range, I don't think anything beats a .45ACP, be it in pistol or carbine - save perhaps a load of 00 buckshot. Mmmmm...technical drawings....:D

    Anyone pilots?

For the days when a USGI surplus Mustang cost the same as a Piper Cub. I can barely imagine that. :(

    Anyone pilots?

Not quite so far back on that curve, but check. I live near the training areas of a flight school, which I also attend. Even with student flights almost daily, it's quiet. So check. Check. Check-check. Check. Nothing like getting screwed in an unbalanced fight...

Got the private nailed down and I'm pushing on the instrument rating. :D

What did your grandparents pack for personal protection in the Golden Era?

I know for a fact that my grandparents and great grandparents had firearms. In fact, some of them are living in the safe back in Austin. BUT - I do not believe that they actually 'carried' on a daily basis. Most of them kept a rifle or a shotgun (or quite possibly an ax handle) in...
