SeaBass, you are too kind and you're right--Awesome is the right word for that Royal Stetson.
Manfred, thanx and hope your weekend was great.
A'n'A, I like the Saks and the proportions on the straw are nice.
David, thank you, sir.
G.Durand, nice backdrop for a sharp hat.
Jlee, drizzling here...
Oh yeah, while sporting my Stevens straw, we hosted a BBQ on the deck and made a new garden spot in our backyard. It was a lot of hard work but we want to grow some veggies instead of buying them. I hope the rain holds off until we've planted all our seeds and baby plants.
A lot of great hats and images as of late.
Justin, dressed to impress.
Alan, nice shade of green.
ManofKent, I'm not on the fence w that boater, great hat and great view you shared!
Rag'n'Bone, great proportions on that lid. It's nice to get something brand new in the mail once in a while...
Wore the 7XCB, pictured here, this morning to a couple estate sales and then switched to a straw western to go out to the parents' farm to play around outside. It rained a bit but the straw handled it and kept the old bean dry.
It sure does resemble an OR w a wide ribbon. Maybe like a Whippetish hat w the brim snapped up. I am always tempted to go back to the original cattleman's crease on my 7XCB.
Not cool. A few nibbles is accepted but all over....that's not on the description. Hope you get that money back and if you don't, make sure that seller gets flagged somehow for the misrepresentation.
... green goop that leaks out and gets on the brim in droplets....just nasty. Well, I am still capable of learning then (Hopefully that trait will continue).
Thanks to David, RBH and Justin.
I don't catch every hat post so I'm sad if I missed your wedding hat pics, RBH.
It looked like a very...
RBH, I would bet the green stuff was poured into the back of the sweat which has seperated from the hat about an inch or two and a bit was dripped onto the brim and then wiped on the binding for good measure. If it is factory to the hat I would be very taken to school.
Yes Sir, Justin...haha. I was joking about the vintage nature of the trolley cord. It had a cattlemens crease and I bashed it into a front pinch to show you how I like it. I sure wish it was my size. I guess the more modern 7XCB I found is pretty much a non-labeled OR style which fits well and...
...sizes. I can't believe some of the high bids on ebay since I've recently made the move to visiting their site....(I just made my first e-bay purchase a couple weeks ago...or should I say, first "win"?)
I will probably not be winning any $300+ lids anytime soon. Maybe someday when I am not...
I found a Wormser Custom Quality at a yard sale on Sat. Maybe '60s as far as its age. The color is kind of a brownish gray in a 7 1/4.
Today I was really surprised to find a Royal DeLuxe Stetson Open Road in a store that I've gone to a thousand times & found nothing to write home about.
It is...
David, one crisp 25
hatsRme, thanks for checking the supply!
There has been a soaking rain lumbering through the area...we really needed it.
I needed a beaver felt today that can take the elements so I broke out the big gun from Texas: a Resistol 4X in gunmetal gray. I have pics of me wearing...
Now that I think of it, my hats are always questionable in size because 7 1/4 is a bit too small and 7 3/8 either fits well or is too big. My Stetsons of the latter all seem too big--and my Mallory by Stetson fits larger as well. Is that a coincidence?
AL, great images, really enjoyed them. The kids really clean up well. I'm sure they'll remember that car ride for a long, long time. Your hats are so crisp too. Thanks for sharing.
Alan, I like the foam idea a lot.
When I was a teenager, I learned a bit of hat terminology, tips on hat care, shaping, etc. from a woman who owned and ran a hat restoration shop. Every time I brought in a hat, she would show me a few handy things.
When I see pics online of hats w a dark ring...
Nice hats all.
RLK, nice Borso
TJones, the herringbone cap is nice.
CircuitRider, Nice suit and hat.
Seabass, you are cool even in those tropical surroundings.
G.Durand, I need a lid roughly that shade. A great hat color and super Stetson.
Mayserwegener, your nose for those habigs is truly...
Justin, Good luck to you and thanks for your future service... a salute to you, sir. On a side note: the military clothing I've come across seems to be well made and I'm sure you'll appreciate it.
