What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Yes, I've often wondered what he saw in her, but he went through a lot because of her. I guess it was a case of the camera failing to pick up the energy of someone, which I've seen happen. I've always liked his definition of marriage, though: "A friendship authorized by the police."

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Reading your comments, I couldn't help wondering if you'd read the later works of Robert Louis Stevenson, particularly "The Beach at Falesa." His later years living in Samoa are truly remarkable. f you Google his name and hit "Images," you'll see a photo of him and his wife and a Samoan couple...

    Bandanas? (no politics, please)

Hey, Jonesy. I just wanted to ask what kind of sunglasses those are. I just received yesterday a pair of Ray Ban Round Fleck Sunglasses that I really like. Also, I envy your living in a place where sanity seems to reign

    Lionel Trains

Very nice. My brother still has our Lionel set from the early 1950's: when I saw it again last year I was amazed at the details, particularly of the locomotive.

    Akubra Overload

Yeah, it is odd. The amount of stiffener (starch, I think) also seems to vary from one run to the next. What the hell, though: nobody else on the planet makes such a decent hat at their price points.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

A girl I was good friends with way back in the early 70s in NY took exactly two courses (Fabrics and Basic Clothing Design) at the Fashion Institute and became one of the biggest shoe designers in the world. She was just absolutely determined and really smart how she went about it.

    THE SUNBODY ASSOCIATION

That looks good on you. When I was a kid some of my dad's pals wore Pork Pies and I thought they looked cool, but if I try to wear one I look like a 1950s comedian.

    Akubra Overload

How snug is it? My experience has been that if a hat's a little snug and I can't stretch it into shape, I'll eventually stop wearing it. The hats I wear all the time are barely noticeable while I'm wearing them.

The Non Shorpy Web All Stars.

    Looks like a wedding picture.

    THE SUNBODY ASSOCIATION

I'd advise anyone thinking of getting one of their hats to give them a call at their toll-free number. They're very nice to deal with on the phone and very helpful: well-run operation with great customer service.

    Clarks Desert Boots Lately

Thursday Boots have them as well, for $149.00. If they're anything like their other boots (I have three pair), they;re comfortable and durable. They offer both regular hard, studded rubber soles and crepe ones.

    Clarks Desert Boots Lately

That's what everyone here called them in the 1960s when they were very popular, especially among the hippie contingent: check out photos of the San Francisco bands like The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, etc. Also big were Engineer boots. I wore both.

Nice jacket, but I thought this thread was about my favorite drink.

That's all it said, and that says it all. No apology - how gracious. What are your plans now?

LVC x Aero Rockabily / Rockafella halfbelt horsehide jacket size XL

There was one labeled Medium, as I remember, on the Aero sales page that I gazed at for months but the measurements just seemed too small for me, and I take a 38. Love that style, though.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I was just wondering what your thoughts were on your Model J after a couple of months. That's long been one of my all-time favorite jackets, and I'm seriously thinking of selling a couple of the ones I don't wear to finance it. Ant recent pics?

    Bandanas? (no politics, please)

One of my favorite memories of my visits to India (my wife is from Chennai) is the fairly frequent use of calico as a material for curtains. One of my wife's aunts had a window with yellow fabric that produced a really nice and restive glow in the warm afternoons. When I commented on it at the...

    Bandanas? (no politics, please)

Funny, but when I first received my masks they came in a little bag of two, and when I took them out it looked like someone had simply cut a bra in two. Strange thoughts when I tried putting one on.

    Panama Hat Thread

I've been following this thread and hoping for two results: that you get reimbursed in full and that these bastards get enough bad publicity it puts them out of business. As so often happens these days, something goes wrong on the shipping/communication side and the seller is faced with the...

    Bandanas? (no politics, please)

When I first noticed the concept of "fashionable" masks on the web it struck me initially as comical: fashionable prosthetic items (models hobbling down the runway, etc.). As mentioned above, though, bandanas have always been around and have a bohemian flavor, besides being interesting in...
