What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

Oooh makeup fun! That is a lovey color you chose Inky :D I'm sure you will love it! Makeup Artist Lottie Stannard (www.lotstar.com) says Illamasqua are some of her favorite lipsticks. I'm afraid to visit my local Sephora in the fear that I'll drop a load of $$$ on this brand!

    Platinum hair question...

For what it's worth, I think the red your hair is know is THE color for you! You look as if you were born to be a redhead, and not everyone can make it work for them. Also, you have such a nice skin tone, I would think the platinum might work against that. Obviously you are going to do...

    Ben Nye Makeup

My pleasure Marie-Anne :) As far as the foundation goes, I only have the creme one Ben Nye makes. They are a medium-full coverage, but if you thin it down with moisturizer you can make it alot thinner (I like to get a pea-sized amount of foundation on the back of my hand, then a few strokes...

    Ben Nye Makeup

I am a fan of Ben Nye. I have an eyeshadow palette from them that is just matte neutrals and I always end up using at least one color on almost every job. The colors are quite pigmented and a little goes a long way. While it is true that they have a theatrical line that is meant to be used...

    What's Your Fav Hairspray?

European Elnett hands down. (The US version is different somehow). I remember reading an article about a year ago in Vogue about a famous hairdresser who does hair for all the major fashion shows and how a few years back he horded a bunch of European Elnett and was detained at the airport...

    Freelance Hair/Makeup~Steps Towards?

I currently run my own bridal beauty business on top of being a freelance makeup artist. I've done shoots for magazines, commercials, red carpet, etc. What part of the freelancing world are you looking to get into? The reason I ask is because if you are interested in doing bridal (that's...

Liquid Eyeliner and other Makeup Conundrums

Tarte has this great paraben free, oil free, primer that is just lovely. My sister is allergic to SO many different chemicals and we found that this one doesn't irritate her skin at all. I would recommend giving this a try :)

winter vintage style vs. summer vintage style?

Agreed! I have much more vintage inspired clothing for fall/winter (but let's face it, I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles County. It truly doesn't get below the 50's here and if it does, it dips to the high 40's in the middle of the night/very early morning where I won't be up for hours)...

    Beauty Bargains

You are more than welcome Lolly! For those who want to see a comparison, no mascara to the Lash Stiletto here is a picture for you (excuse my lack of makeup, this was just before bedtime last night!) And please excuse the large size. While I'm sure you don't want an in-depth view of my pores, I...

    Beauty Bargains

Hi Hadley! I agree, it doesn't really give "volume" but if you give your lashes a good curl beforehand, it makes all the difference :) I think I'll post a "Before" and "After" pic for people later today as a few of my friends have asked me to do that for them ;)

    Beauty Bargains

Hi Inky! My pleasure. I just cannot keep a good bargain/deal/product to myself :D I know what you mean about mascara. I mean, I do have my professional discounts that help when buying the expensive stuff, but if something much cheaper works just as well there is no reason to spend the extra...

Emer--I have drier skin as well, and it was perfectly fine on my skin. I always follow up with a moisturizer however, so you might want to do the same if you are anticipating some dryness. But as Inky says as well, you won't believe how nice your skin looks and feels after one cleansing :)

    Eyebrow Grooming

I generally draw the shape I want with white eyeliner, use cold wax strips to take off the larger sections and then go in with my tweezers and do the "fine" shaping.

    Beauty Bargains

Yay for Dr. Bronner's Magic Bar Soap! So I just had to join in on the thread since I "discovered" an amazing product that was mentioned on page 4 or so of the thread. My face has been kind of icky these past couple of weeks. I have dry-ish skin that is somewhat sensitive. My skin has been...

    What goodies are on sale!?

You are more than welcome Paisley :) I can't keep a good bargain to myself ;) Miss Bella Hell, the sizing runs pretty true to size. When I was a size 12, the size 12 pants and skirts fit absolutely perfectly, and I could wear either a medium or large top. Now that I am an 8-10, I wear an 8 in...

Liquid Eyeliner and other Makeup Conundrums

That happens to the mascara's in my professional kit sometimes Pretty Faythe (I tend to store it in my trunk when I have various shoots set up during the week). What you want to do is swirl the wand, NOT pump (pumping will trap extra air in the tube and your mascara will go bad quicker) and...

    Puffy eyes!

I'd stick with the rollerball eye gel you have Miss Neecerie and then purchase a gel eye mask (they sell them at CVS for like $3) and stick it in the freezer as someone mentioned. If you can use your roller ball and then the eye mask once in the morning and once at night for about 10-15 minutes...

    What goodies are on sale!?

I agree Paisley! About 5-6 years ago I used to work across the way from a NY and Co and I used to buy lots from them. And the basic black high waisted pants as well as cigarette pants and sweaters and blouses have held up quite well. I don't mind paying for good quality clothing that will last.

I agree! JC Penny's has some really REALLY cute stuff on sale right now. Lots of skirts (pencil, full, etc.) and darling blouses (including a boat necked, nautical inspired sweater in both navy and navy and white striped) for really great prices :)
