Do you ladies have a recommendation for a good moisturizer for combination sensitive skin?

Right now im using Oil of Olay sensitive all day moisture.. but it leaves a white tint to my face from the sunscreen and I dont feel that the moisturizer really works for my face.

This is really great stuff! Its has an SPF but doesn't leave a white cast.

I just wanted to thank Rebecca for her mascara recommendation (Maybelline lash stiletto). I *love* it.

Also, for Australian Loungers I'd like to recommend Key Sun Clear Zinke. I was going to buy the Megan Gale Invisible zinc, but at $20 for 50gms I was unsure, then I found Clear Zinc - $5 for 50gms. So far I'm really happy with it. My skin is dry & super sensitive & I've had no reaction from it at all.

You are more than welcome Lolly! For those who want to see a comparison, no mascara to the Lash Stiletto here is a picture for you (excuse my lack of makeup, this was just before bedtime last night!) And please excuse the large size. While I'm sure you don't want an in-depth view of my pores, I think it's important to see closely how much lash definition it gives, it almost looks like false lashes.

stretch mark helper at last!!

Having been an early developer (glares evily at chest) and then beiing pleasently curvy in high school (used to think I was fat in my low self esteem mind, now that's actually my goal weight, alas my twins are even larger and won't go back to that size) then having two wonderful children and being over weight most or all my adult life I have battled with some form of stretch marks. Lately it has been my goal (summer of unemployment I have to have some goal) to find some product that actually works.
Success at last and it did not cost an arm and a leg, I did not have to send off to a foriegn country or say some magic spell.
The best I have found is at WalGreens, its generic, Skin Essentials Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks Specially Formulated w/Vitamin E, Collagen & Elastin. Its supposed to be compared to Palmers Formula. It goes in nice, smells nice, the 6 oz tube lasted about 2 1/2 months (put a lil bit of water in it to get the remainder out), I put it on in the am and pm and have seen a vast difference in brightness of color in my stretch marks. I am very impressed.

I had bought a tube of another brand of stuff when I was with my sister at Big Lots a few weeks ago thinking I was going to be out of this soon, I hope it is good as well, otherwise I will pass this stuff off to my kids give them a lil schpeel about maybe preventing stretch marks since they are growing and go get me some more walgreeens brand

Rub a dab of Vaseline or unscented lotion where you plan to apply your perfume.

This is the latest drugstore mascara that is becoming a favorite of mine. Although it's not perfect, it's pretty close, it's cheap and imo it delivers! I will buy it waterproof next, "Colossal Volum' Express" by Maybelline. It's worth trying and see how it works for you.

I bought maybelline "red revival" the other day & was very pleased with it.It was my first try at a really red lipstick so i didn't want to spend too much & for the price i think it performed really well.Granted it does leave a print behind on cups but because i used the matching lipliner to fill in my whole lip & blotted/layered when initially applying it didn't look like i'd lost any from my lips.
The colour was a rich,dark pink based red & i really liked it,didn't dry my lips out either.This has given me more confidence to try other shades of red now

Hi Lolly Actually we were going away for the weekend to the blue mountains,last weekend in fact.We considered going into the city but we've never actually driven ourselves in Sydney before & last time we were there as passengers it was pretty scary We live in Bathurst & used to live in QLD so we're not used to the crazy traffic so we gave it a miss
There is a Myers in Orange though,do they carry Mac?

Funny you should say that - yesterday when I was putting my makeup on I thought "I wonder how the lanacane would go" and gave it a try! So much cheaper than the same stuff marketed as a primer.

I'm sure I've already posted in this thread but here are my beauty bargains/drugstore faves. I generally tend to be a makeup snob, but there are some drugstore products that I love and stick with.

- Coty Airspun powder - I like translucent extra coverage
- L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base primer - this is my all-time favorite primer, I even prefer it to Smashbox Photo Finish
- L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duos - generally I find drugstore shadows to be too powdery, but these work great and have some nice colors
- ELF Studio makeup brushes (the $3 black ones) - I have mostly MAC and Hakuhodo brushes, but there are several ELF Studio brushes I couldn't live without
- ELF Studio HD powder, $6 for a big tub and a very close dupe for MUFE HD Powder
- Boots No. 7 Instant Radiance Beauty Balm - dupe for MAC Strobe Cream
- Boots No. 7 Intelligent Balance Mousse foundation - flawless all-day matte finish
- NYX eyeshadows & lip pencils
- L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge lipsticks
- L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute liquid foundation - I find this almost a dupe for Lancome Teint Miracle
- L'Oreal True Blend blendable compact foundation

Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm with vitamin E & peppermint. Goes on thick. I put this on whenever I use a matte lipstick. Does not dry out the lips and I adore the smell. Also from Burt's Bees Red Dahlia tinted lip balm. Does not go on as thick as the peppermint one. There is a tiny bit of color and it has a fruit scent almost cherry like. I use this on my stay at home no lipstick days. Its fantastic goes on smooth. And it does not need t be reapplied as often, its very moisturising, $4 or less depending on which one you get. Last me months.
Revelon # 006 really red matte lipstick a true to vintage red lipstick goes on thick and smooth. Does dry out lips if not worn with lip balm. $8 this is my favourite red lipstick. Every time I wear it people stare or sometimes do a double take to look at my red lips. With my porcelain doll skin it really stands out on me. I do use a lip liner to start it of but its not in the $10 (us) range. Mac cherry lip liner.
Walgreens/CVS brand oil absorbing sheets, instantly removes excess oil from the face won't smudge make-up, these are the best blotting papers. My skin is very oily and sensitive and thsese are true to the words on the package $4-5 (us).
O.P.I nail Lacquer big apple red. Last a long time depending how much you apply to your nails. One coat last almost a week (I don't use a top coat) it does fade a bit at the tips but not so much that you will feel the need to apply an extra coat. I learned when I do apply more then on coat of nail polish it chips on the sides the fastest $ 4-9 (us).
Pomade got2b playful texturizing creme pomade, the package is silver/yellow/purple. This is the only pomade that works on my medium thick hair. Goes on lightweight not greasy and smells like frosting sometimes its on sale buy one get on free. I stock up on this puppy $5-6 (us).
Tresemme thermal creations heat tammer spray. I always use this when ever I put in my hot sticks or curling iron. It works like a dream and I save on setting lotion $5-7 (us).
Motions foaming wrap lotion. This is the only setting lotion I ever used. My hair will not hold a curl unless I put something in it. I do however dilute it for my hair type with water in a small spray bottle $5-6. Sometimes this is on sale buy one get one free. Also when I am not using the setting lotion I spritz my hair lightly with water and comb through and set.
Hair spray Aussie sydney smooth 12 hour anti-humidity hairspray pump. For me this is the singles best flexible hold hairspray I've ever used. It does spray on wet but what I do to dry it a little without messing up my creation. After I spray my hair I pat my hair lightly to set the hairspray. It also brushes out fantasticly $4-5 (us).
Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for all skin types. This for me works bettter then cold cream. And does not irratate my skin. Plus its soap free (alergic to soap) $9. I also use the lotion, too at night only. In the morning the lotion I use is from the online company Pinkdandy lightly whipped skin lotion great for very sensitve skin, you get to choose your favorite scent, you can get it on amazon or etsy $8.
Burt's bees herbal blemish stick. When I get spots/pimples I use this and they go away within a week. I do squeeze my spots if they are squeezeable and then apply the blemish stick. Nothing else will work on my spots plus no one will see you wearing it, goes on clear $7-8 (us).

I realized my whole makeup bag could go in this thread, the only thing that costs more than $10 is my Ruby Woo! Even my foundation I buy cheap from eBay (Revlon Mineral Matte mousse, just like the liquid colorstay but lighter and easier to blend and get off)!

Anyway... has anyone else tried MUA makeup? Everything's £1, and they've recently brought out a 'pro' range (more advanced products but still nothing over £4). These are full-size products too. I've not tried everything in the range and there are some products I wouldn't even bother with (lipsticks, foundation, nail varnish and most others). HOWEVER I would like to rave about their primers and eye makeup! Both of which have been getting glowing reviews online.

If, like me, you've always wanted to try primer the MUA one is a perfect opportunity- £4 for the face one, £2.50 for the eye one. Both made my makeup look and apply smoother and I *think* they increased its staying power! At this price I can afford to use them everyday!

Eyeliner-wise, I love their bronze metallic liquid liner and gold glitter liner. £1 each, a nice bit of sparkle that I apply a thin line of alongside my black liquid liner. Super flattering on blue eyes IMO! I also love their pro contour eyeliner- It has an angled, wedge-shaped tip, and when I first saw it I thought I'd never be able to use it but it is SO much easier than regular eye pencil/crayon as it is shaped to your eye! I think this is genius, I've never seen anything like it before and it's £2.50!

Their eyeshadows have had a lot of press- I love their Heaven and Earth palette, which is a selection of 12 soft, shimmery neutral browns, creams, taupes etc. Great for doing a barely-there 'vintage' eye. A few shades make great highlighters too. £4!

Last time I checked they were giving away a free 24-shade palette if you spend over £8, their website is www.muastore.co.uk and I *think* they deliver worldwide if you are not in the UK!

yay, glad to spread the word and help someone out! I think all the colours in it are very flattering. They're surprisingly pigmented for cheap e/s, but you can still apply them subtly. I know what you mean too, all I ever wear is neutral brown/beige/gold shades, so this palette is perfect!

Where do you find your Boots products at, ftworthgal? I've been anxious to try a few of their products but have not had any luck finding any. I must be looking in the wrong stores.
