Apparently Homburgs don't look good on me. Here's a fantastic deal on a fantastic hat.
Stunning (on you, not me) at only $175 plus shipping.
It's darker than in the pictures; midnight blue is frequently "blacker than black". This one is no exception.
Pick it up soon!

Wow, the hate is palpable. I have modern Stetson Stratoliner, which I like very much. I also have modern Borsalinos that I like very much. I'm very pleased with my modern Beaver Brand hats (sorry they went out of business).
I know it's fashionable to say that a modern factory hat is crap, but...
I'm another who doesn't think modern Borsalino is all that awful. I have two Alessandria from Bencraft. One is newer than the other (though bought about the same time), both were easy to crease, and had enough stiffener to HOLD the crease.
A lot of people don't realize how stiff an older hat...
I have, and I can tell you that, while the modern ones aren't quite made to the same price point as the older ones, they are fine hats and because the stiffener hasn't been broken up over the years, you can put a decent crease in it.
For sure, they are NOT junk and the people who say they are...
BEHOLD!
I asked John to make it thin and he worked hard to make it happen. It's pretty much lightweight. So lovely.
This is a "powder blue" rabbit. Sort of a Whippet. A little whimsey in the bow that John and Kate suggested.
What more can I say? The proof is in front of you. It fits. I let...
I have bought two Alessandrias from Bencraft and the felt is very nice, better in my opinion, than in the Biltmore Open Road I just creased tonight, though from the wet dog smell, the Biltmore has more beaver fur in it (as in more than zero).
I see guys bad-mouthing the new Borsalinos, but...
Wanted to buy, a Stetson with a thin ribbon, such as Stratoliner or Open Road, in "silver belly" size 7-1/8. What's important to me is the condition of the hat in general and the color of the felt. Stetson's silver belly ranges in color from a light grey to a significantly pink color; I'm...
Thanks; I've learned my lesson. If it's cheap, you probably don't want it. Nowadays, when I can't keep from looking, I only go for things that haven't been messed with too badly. I have a challenge coming up, though; a Borsalino that was creased with a flat crown. Getting that sharp crease out...
Any who complain that something they want costs more than they want to pay. "It's not worth that! I paid less than that 20 years ago!"
The ones I really really hate are the ones who post about M1911 pistols on a forum other than this.
I have the wrong attitude to frequent collector forums...
I'm sorry I missed Alan's pink Stetson 100 when it was cheaper. He decided he wanted to keep it after all so priced it more than I wanted to pay. :-)
I have a lot of 7-1/8 consigned at the local hat store (Brass Rooster) but, alas, few buyers.
Vintage is tricky, in my opinion. What you see in...
Hey, I get you. Who doesn't seek a bargain? But when I see the right thing, I'm not going to cry over the price, I'm going to buy it. I wasted too much time crying over the price of some things, and then I grew a brain. I'll pay good money for durable goods, and I'll be damned if I'll pay...
