Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

Steve is very lucky to have so many people be so patient about all of this. I don't think there is another business that would get away with having people wait that long with no hope of receiving a product other than an email saying "it's coming" once in a while and not have some kind of...

If you could live/move anywhere right now, where would it be? Why?

I've been to and lived in many cities and countries and have not found anywhere more beautiful or better than San Francisco. Other places may be nice for a spell but nothing beats living in paradise..... warts and all.

Reactions when you first start wearing brimmed hats.

I'm not a senior citizen but I sure do notice that as the years progress, I get away with more and more that made me look silly a few years ago. I've been smoking a pipes for the past 20 years and I used to get stared at like crazy when I first started and now, I just look "right" with a pipe...

Reactions when you first start wearing brimmed hats.

It all depends on where your self confidence is and the type of hat you are wearing. Is the hat appropriate for the situation? I'm sure if I walked around downtown Los Angeles or New York in a tall, 6" wide brimmed Western Stetson, people will stare because I look out of place. If I do the...

Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

I don't think anyone wants to "see a train wreck" at all. I think all of the comments are based on the perspective of the customer. It's not up to the customer to come up with "genuine ideas" on how to help his business. We don't know his business. Not one of us will have "ingenuous ideas"...

    Adventurebilt hats confuse me

After reading this thread quite carefully............... What a horrible, unbelievable mess the whole Adventurbilt Hat thing turned into. Ex-firemen making hats, some guy in Germany, one uses one block the other uses another, different qualities, names and prices........... I'm dizzy and I am...

Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

Really? No one could have predicted that the hat maker of an Indiana Jones movie hat was going to be inundated with orders by the unbelievably loyal fans of his hats? I, like thousands of others did. And I'm not even in the business.

Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

I am not an Indy fan at all and I didn't take that into account in my prior post. I forget just how dedicated the Indiana Jones fans are. Steve should have taken that into account before the movie ever came out. I certainly thought two things as soon as I found out he was making the hats...

Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

It's no secret that Steve has been in over his head for years now. He needs an assembly line and a team of customer service reps. Someone should be helping the guy with his business. They are nice hats (nothing any other good hatter can't do) but waiting years for one is just the most...

    Do Dogs Really Hate Hats?

As a dog behaviorist and trainer, I can tell you that if your dog is used to people in hats, it will have no problem when you approach it while wearing a hat. That is why I've never had a dog that "hates hats". To a dog that isn't used to seeing hats, you are a guy with a weird shape to your...

Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

This is the first time I've seen this thread and I am in awe of how long you all have waited for one of Steve's hats! :eeek: I am also amazed at the price! I had a hat made by Steve that I ordered in Oct. of 05' and received in Dec. of 05'. It's my favorite and most worn hat in my...

Anyone here have the Sydney Model of Akubra here....

I have a charcoal grey Fedora that I purchased at David Morgan's store. It's a bit shorter brimmed than most of my other hats and the crown does taper a bit more but it is a great, soft, excellently fitting hat.

    Dubious advertisments

Ahh yes.... :eusa_clapthe days when corporations could advertise their products without the government and whack jobs telling them they can sell the product but they can't tell anyone to use it.

is silence a valuable form of feedback?

I think that is the car salesman and politicians way of dealing with people. Say what you want as long as you smile. :)

    New shoes = agony!?

I bought the same shoes a while back and returned them to Nordstroms a couple of days later because of the same problem. I figured out that most low ankle shoes that are not super soft, do that to me so I stay away from anything that doesn't have at least a few inches of height at the ankle. I...

is silence a valuable form of feedback?

I enjoy any and all type of feedback. I'm not easily offended by answers to questions I asked on an internet forum. If you think it's ugly and I look like a jerk, I want to know. I take what someone on an internet forum thinks about my jacket or shoes with a grain of salt. I'll decide if...

Which is the best A2 manufacturer you can order from and get a jacket right away?

Any reason to stay away from their goatskin? Comments like this ^ is what confuses a lot of new jacket seekers. No reason, just a statement blowing in the wind. I have one of their goatskin A-2 jackets and find it to be top notch. I wear a size 40 sport coat and ordered a size 40 jacket. It...

All You Need to Know About Hat Etiquette

What about in taverns? Should I take my hat off or set it on a hat rack or put it on the seat next to me or hold it in my lap or have my friend wear it or is taking my pants off good enough? :eusa_doh:

    skydiving advice please?

I think the whole thing hinges on what the individual calls "living". That is a very personal word and always relative to your personal sensibilities. I think it's great to do something you think would make you feel like you are "alive". I think I get that from playing in front of an audience...

    skydiving advice please?

The military has a totally different motivation for doing every single job they do. In the military, we were forced to face all kinds of insane/scary stuff with no options given. I remember thinking "I didn't sign up for this stuff" more than once.
