I agree. I wonder if we should keep receipts for all items we purchase so we can prove that we lost money on the deal. The tax is charged as "income" from sales. It's a "gig workers tax". Not a tax on the items.
I'm not positive but... If someone sends you money through PayPal using...
The new tax law is not about the site that allows you to sell. The tax has to do with online third party transaction networks. So if you receive $600 or more for goods through PayPal or any online escrow, they are required to send a 1099. It doesn't matter if you use eBay, Etsy, Poshmark.
My sale was also to a U.S. address and ended up in Germany where the account was registered. The U.S. address was to a business address near an airport which I believe (maybe erroneously) that third party shippers are actual shipping business hired by out of country buyers. I think making sure...
Per eBay policy, they assess a 1.65% international fee for transactions to buyers who registered their accounts from addresses in foreign countries regardless of the delivery address.
There seems to be no way to avoid this, as I confirmed with ebay customer service. Even if I only ship to...
From what I understand the IRS is going to make it obligatory to report any sales that involve PayPal, Venmo and other online money exchange systems over $600. They claim there are too many people not reporting their online earnings. If you occasionally sell something it shouldn't affect you...
I ship within 24 hrs. after eBay notifying me of payment. At first I wanted to wait until the money hit the bank but then realized that when dealing with eBay, you just have to go with their flow...... up to a point.
As a U.S. seller that sells high end watches, jackets and musical...
Is your town or area lacking a hat shop? Very successful hat shops have had to close because of the lack of customers today. What kind of hat shop are you talking about? Hat shops today are a risky business unless there happens to be a large demand for them in your area. Hats from a hat shop...
A blind man and his dog enter a jewelry store.
The blind man grabs his dog by the tail and swings him around and around.
The clerk walks up to the man and asks, "Sir, what are you doing? Can I help you?"
The blind man replies, "No thank you, just looking".
Yes. The Fedora Lounge has most definitely digressed far from the concept of the Golden Era. I would actually call it a progression more than a digression. But that's to be expected when dealing with a certain era. I believe the love of certain eras comes and goes. Some people linger...
My grandma bought a goat. I asked, "where it will sleep". She said, "under my bed". I said, "what about the horrible smell"? Grandma said, "the goat will get used to it".
Hoodies do serve a purpose and not everyone is into being fashionable. They keep you warm and if your leather jacket isn't enough, throw a hoodie under it?
I think a lot of people like having a "hood" over their head and since hats are not a "thing" today, hoodies do their part to pretend...
Limmer Custom Boots are about the best I've ever experienced when it comes to craftsmanship, materials and usability. I bought a pair of second hand Limmers about 10 years ago I've used them for everything from hiking the PCT to walking around big cities...
I have the same jacket in a 40 and it is top-notch quality and incredible horsehide. BTW....That sleeve length is perfect for me. I rarely find pre-owned jackets that have my 23.5" sleeve length.
I've used Chap-Sticks and cork grease for zippers without ill effects. I suppose the leather will eventually give a bit and allow the zipper to move more freely also.
Congratulations on your new jacket. I sympathize with your "teething problem". 3 weeks ago I received a used Highwayman from Thurston Bros. that is supposed to be somewhat broken in but not quite all the way, and I also have a tough time zipping up. The leather does cover the zipper and it...
You don't have to spend more than $100 to get a decent hat. You just can't expect a "new" decent hat for under $100. Look through the classified here and through Ebay. There are many hats to be had under $100. Many of the vintage hats that are priced under $100 are much better than any of...
I think color may have more to do with it than either style hat. I have a brown Stylemaster and a dark grey Sydney/Fedora and I tend to wear the Stylemaster with khakis or jeans more than the Sydney. I believe that brown just looks less formal than dark grey. The brim on my Stylemaster seems...
