A couple of unusual hats...both mistakes. We asked for a semicalado with just one inch of the semicalado. They made one, but it was supposed to be horizontal in design, not diagonal. Second one, was supposed to be a 5 inch crown for a size 7 3/8. It's a 5 inch crown, but the hat is a size 8... -

Looks Colombian to me. I'll pull some out and take some photos, too. We should have a steady stream of these by next summer. Many hatting communities without the monopolizing that we have in Ecuador. Could be Peru, maybe? -

I sent a Montecristi hat to Cuenca a year or two ago to be bleached white and to eliminate the sulfur smell for a customer. I have yet to see that hat! I wonder where it is!!!!!! -

What does the middle of the crown look like? Second photo strikes me as a Colombian or Peruvian hat, but I can't quite see the top. -

Cuenca Brisa will breathe better than any other "closed" weave hat. If you really want ventilation, go for a calado open weave, or calado crown with solid brim. -

As I've just told you in your PM, I don't think it's an exaggeration. I've seen some 400-600 weave count Borsalino hats with $1500+ pricetags. I've seen hats that I sell for $15.00 with $200.00 pricetags. I'm only telling Wineguy what I thought it would sell for in Hawaii, Chicago, or New... -
