    The Aero Mariner

Yeah, Fanch, I too sized down to a 38. To my mind, wearing these jackets over another jacket would be way too unwieldy.

    The Aero Mariner

I have a Wool HB and when I wear that I really notice the difference in weight. It's also so much warmer. I keep meaning to post updated pics of my Stockmans as they're both about 2 years old and looking good now. We should maybe do a long jackets thread.

    The Aero Mariner

Yeah, you've probably got an extra 4 or 5 inches down the front. I don't mind the weight at all, as it's only about 500-700g more than a short HB, so barely noticeable on your back.

    The Aero Mariner

I did the same on my Stockmans, taking an inch off the 38s.

    The Aero Mariner

Nice. It's rare to see longer jackets like that here, but I wouldn't be without my Stockmans. What's the back length on the 38?

Aero 20-something year old Zip Sleeve Highwayman

    Fantastic CS. Great result.

    Buttoned winter jacket draft?

Most of my jackets are buttoned and I've never noticed a draught, so I'd say don't worry about it.

New Aero Half Belt Fit Jacket

I agree with @jacketjunkie. I was borderline 38 or 40 on my Dustbowl, so ordered the smaller size for a trimmer fit. I then put on a few pounds, it didn't look right and I sold it. If I'd only gone up, I'd have been hundreds of pounds better off with a great looking broken-in jacket. Now I'm...

White vinegar on leather-is it safe?

Great result. I've used white vinegar to try to get rid of indigo stains on suede boots. It didn't help much, but it didn't damage the boots either.

Consider Teamster for my first aero, have some questions.

Thurston definitely prefer a neat fit by all accounts, hence their recommendations to go down two on the likes of the HWM and Stockman. Going up is probably against the grain for them, but if it means you get what you want, then maybe you could investigate it more. If you could get the...

Consider Teamster for my first aero, have some questions.

@firstoar, if you like the Work Coat style best, why don't you just size up one or two to get the fit you want, and maybe reduce the extra length?

Consider Teamster for my first aero, have some questions.

As to the vents, I have these on my Dustbowl and they don't gape open at all, and it's also a very neat fitting jacket. I'm not sure why it was so obvious on the Work Coat. It might be ok on you without modification, you never know.

Consider Teamster for my first aero, have some questions.

@firstoar, I think you're stuck with the Teamster then, which is no bad thing. Have a good think about the back and whether or not you really need to change it. And there's no guarantee Aero will make a relatively drastic change like that anyway, but you can only ask.

Consider Teamster for my first aero, have some questions.

I had the Work Coat and the vent was open all the time. I didn't like that, but it may have been because the jacket was too neat a fit on me. I have the Wool HB with the centre vent and that doesn't have the same problem, but that may be because it's wool or because it's a slightly bigger fit...

Teamster length in comparison to Stockman (sz. 40)

They're both entirely different and I wear both equally, so the only answer is to get both. :) I have two Stockmans and have just ordered my second Teamster, so these are definitely my favourite Aero designs. I wear the Stockman much more in winter and maybe autumn, and the Teamster mostly...

Teamster length in comparison to Stockman (sz. 40)

I have both, but the Stockman in 38 and the Teamster in 40. I asked for 30" for the Stockman which was an inch shorter than normal. The Teamster was 28" on one and 27.5" on the second, both as standard. I'd say there's a 3-3.5" difference, but you can usually change it an inch or so each way.

    New Lost Worlds Downtown

Looks really good. I'd say the sleeves are absolutely fine, as they'll wrinkle at least 0.25"

Matching your Leather Jacket and Shoes

Seems like there's no one right rule. I have cordovan jackets and wear them with black or cordovan shoes, but would never dream of wearing brown shoes with them. The brownest I'd go with cordovan would be my IR Hawthornes, which are more of a beige. Equally, I wear cordovan shoes with black...

Aero Dustbowl, Cordovan FGHH, Size 38

Yes it does have the hookless zipper. I like the slightly darker shade of this and have just asked for the same in another Teamster, only one size up.
