Well, most of you probably saw my recent post about being excited to receive a 25 yo Highwayman, only to have it stolen in the post.
During that debacle, Denny from Aero reached out to me to see if he could help at all.
Given that I was excited to receive a vintage item, he thought there could be a good fit with a jacket that he had in stock. Let me be very clear here that this was not a sales opportunity call, rather an extremely generous offer of assistance to one of their customers.
I haven't experienced that kind of service for......... probably ever.
To cut a long story short, we came to an agreement about this amazing jacket, the newest into my stable & I couldn't be happier!!
Denny (& Aero), thank you immensely.
Here it is.....
Made in 'the early nineties', this is at least 20 years old & made from Connolly Steerhide. It is buttery soft, has amazing grain & best of all is pretty much a perfect fit - the trifecta!
It has been worn & it shows in several places - all adding to the character. The overall condition I would say is excellent, although there is wear and a couple of minor tears in the lining (to be expected - it is 20+ years old).
The Zip Sleeve Highwayman provides a different look with the front yoke. I probably wouldn't have gone looking for this, but somehow it has found me. I have to say that after having it for 24 hours, I actually prefer this to the normal design. Considering I do have a couple of 'one chest pocket' jackets, this actually compliments my existing jackets perfectly.
Enough of me rambling on, here are some pic's for your viewing pleasure;
