At the risk of resurrecting a zombie thread, I’m desperate to find out the difference between a J-106 and a Ridley. The context: I placed an order for a slim-fit J-106/Ridley a week ago, but I’m not sure whether that or a regular J-106 is what I want. The folks at Aero tell me that the J-106 is...
@Carrie @ Thurston Bros., could you speak upon the differences between the J-106 and the Ridley. I know the latter is a slim-fit pattern, but the J-106 is pretty slim-fitting, too, right? I'm curious where exactly the differences are. In the armhole openings? Chest-to-waist drop? Thanks in advance!
I picked up a special edition brown Y’2 HR-55. It looked beautiful, but I didn’t care for the fit. The shoulders and chest were a bit tight and the waist and hem were quite loose. It was a size 42, and I have a 42-inch chest and 36-inch waist FWIW. Also, the sleeves were fairly tube-shaped and...
I do like the KOTR back, especially that one from IG that you posted, and I've always admired that J-106/KOTR hybrid. I'm still waffling on whether to go black Badalassi/cream Vicenza or black/tobacco Badalassi. I suppose I'll have a couple of months to decide.
@Canuck Panda, I asked Holly about building a slim-fit KOTR. I'm afraid it's a no-go. So, two-tone J-106 it is. I think I'll go ahead and submit an order today and sort out the color scheme down the road.
I should have added my Grizzly to the lineup. This is in russet Badalassi.
I really do like the way the black and cordovan go together in the above jackets. That black and white Lost Worlds, though! That is fire!!
Howdy, folks. With Aero's new website, including the withdrawal of VAT charges for non-EU countries and the current 10% discount, coinciding with historically prosperous conversion rates for the US dollar, I'm eyeing a new Aero. Until recently, I shied away from two-tone jackets, but this past...
I’ve been looking at some of their pant offerings, but I’m weary of the relatively short inseam. For instance, the inseam is 30.3 inches for size-34 pants. I presume these are worn with the seat low, so perhaps 30 inches fits like 32 inches in modern pants? Can anyone confirm?
Your jacket looks great, @MrProper!
Here are some photos of my Simmons Bilt cafe racer made in apparently the same unfinished Italian horsehide, which I picked up in the spring of 2020. This is my warm-weather motorcycle jacket, so it's seen its fair share of rain, sun, and road grime. I was...
There’s a beautiful Laskinlamb repro in size 40 on Mercari for a good price: https://buyee.jp/mercari/item/m29193377926
I don’t know what this would come out to after import taxes, but I’d be all over it if it was a size larger.
Bumping this. The eBay auction ended yesterday afternoon, and the buyer backed out this morning. $650 (PayPal FF) and it's yours, shipping included in the continental US.
Does Greg use a label to designate pony hide vs horsehide? Just curious, as I bought one of his jackets secondhand, and it is labeled as Shinki horsehide. I need to get around to posting pics, as it's quite a specimen. Moreover, the brown hide (it's two-toned) looks pretty distinct, certainly...
@BikerMan, I got in line just before you did, but I’m just down the road from you in Hillsborough, NC. If, for whatever reason, the jacket doesn’t work out for me, you’ve got first dibs.
Thanks, Ivan, for the sale!
