Nothing weird about wearing a leather jacket indoors. I do it quite often - especially now with the cooler Fall/Winter weather here in central VA. Why wear an itchy sweater when you can slip into a nice leather jacket that only becomes more comfortable the longer and more often you wear it...
Oh my. Apparently they were a local national treasure for their attire and public squabbling. I can't even imagine considering wearing anything like that much less wearing it in public. Still, I admire their onions for being who they were. The world certainly has some colorful inhabitants!
Wow - I never thought wearing a particular style of leather jacket would provoke an altercation. How did you come by this point of view? I see many people (locally & in the media) that are all tattooed up, piercings everywhere there is skin and attire that makes me wonder if they were extras...
Wow! Super nice Jacket - Don't recall seeing this one before. Really love the detail of the back panel - very stylish. Is that Navy Vicenza w/contrasting stitching? Reminds me of my Aero T-3 although the styles are totally different.
Wow! Super nice trucker - the color (Cordovan?) is really special looking as is the zipper closure. Extremely nice grain on all panels. Lucky you - I'm jealous!
Thanks so much for sharing your in person Aero experience and the wonderful series of images reflecting the event. The jacket is super nice and the locale (especially the last image of you/your companion) is almost like being there. Congratulations on your Aero jacket and thanks again for sharing!
Your JL trucker has seasoned up nicely during the 3 week challenge. Other than the snap closures and quilted lining, it looks quite a bit like my Aero T-3 in Navy Vicenza. I got that jkt a little over a year ago and it has really broken in nicely. I wore it for a few days this week in...
Wow - from this to your post just above in Navy which explains the lighter portions along the seams and such. Regardless, the Trucker style is just so cool/kewl to me regardless of what it's constructed of. My Type 3 is quite special to me and I got it (along w/the natural Vicenza T-3 back in...
Nice trucker - you must have one in each color - what was the original hue of this particular one. It reminds me of my Aero in Navy Vicenza w/caramel stitching - a statement jacket for sure!
Great image - I assume you are referring to the fuel prices posted on the sign - watch and weep indeed. I remember that gasoline was about .25 cents per gallon back in the early 70's. Time flies as have the prices - of everything!
It's posts like this (and so many before it) that make the FL forum so much more than discussing outerwear. I hope the sluggishness of the site is resolved and that the fine folks that reside/stop by here will continue to due so until the issue is resolved.
I certainly admire the artisan's skills and technique's employed to create the image, but blowing $1K on that jacket plus the cost of the 'painting' is pure foolishness.
No real marks/stains as the jacket is still new except for the extensive creasing of the sleeves and other areas that are affected by movement. I did apply a light leather conditioner (as I did w/my Navy Vicenza T-3) and some small areas became temporarily darker but evened out. I do realize...
Stunning jacket! I received my Nat. Vicenza Aero Type III back in early May. I gave it a brief 3 hour sun bath - 1.5 hr per front/back. It did darken a bit. Way too hot here to wear outside but I do wear for a few hours now and then to help break it in more. The Natural Vicenza is amazing...
