Eastman G-1 ( https://www.historypreservation.com/products-page/eastman-leather-usnusmc/usn-g-1-intermediate-flying-jacket-spec-55j14/ ) looks quite good to me in a 42, price seems right too :)
Real McCoy is significantly more expensive and also the 42 seems *very* slim in comparison to the 42...
Thanks for the suggestions, the only downside is not sure what sort of return policy there would be for a J-100 from either HPA or Standard and Strange (Eastman, RMC, respectfully) as both would be a special order

I called and spoke with Charles at HPA yesterday and we decided to have me try a B-6 in a 42 :)
He said I could go either way, 42 or 44, but suggested I give the 42 a go if I wear more tight-fitting sweaters/hoodies and like the trim fit on my A-2, additionally he said the 44 may feel a bit long...
