My favorite jacket is an A-2, but last week I wore my venerable old ANJ-3. The interior pockets were so useful for things like wallet and cel phone that I decided that my next jacket would be the F-82 Flight Jacket from G & B which combines the best features of both models.
A leather craftsman will use both glue (usually Barge Cement) and various kinds of stitching when and where each is appropriate. Sometimes one is used to reinforce the other.
