How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I certainly would have purchased this jacket. I'm looking forward to the tale of the tape, size 40 or 42! To me, the size on this jacket would be somewhat irrelevant. No doubt, by style and price, an early 1930s jacket. Shanhouse of Rockford. Illinois is known for this jacket style, I belive...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I agree, issues with the upper arm and shoulder. Does not look good. I have a similar Block in Steerhide that has had some mods. I typically stay away from these issues. I'm not sure anything can be done to repair these sensitive areas.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It is a Special Jacket for me. The history always add to the character of a Jacket, gives a place in time. I do have a Sears bought in 1951, but this is the only jacket that has a reference to my birth year, 1952. It is rare to get a story with the jacket.. I don't ask much anymore. I'd be...

Yes, this is a California Sportswear jacket. I have one with the original tags; MW and CSC horsehide tag. I had another that did not have any tags as I recall, also had side zips and belt removed. I have also seen this style without the side zips. I call these transitional Aviators, The...

Vintage Outerwear: Threads of the Past

That is a beauty! Looks like Capeskin in the interior with the rough out. Is the surface course? not smooth like suede? The zipper says mid 40s. Fall here is great weather for a suede. You should do a deep dive into this company. They were prolific maker. I'm not award they made jackets...

Yes, this jacket has been advertised in the past. You agree that zipper is not original. I have a theory on the maker, Blatt of Chicago. these early Sears wool lined went through some changes in their short life. I will post more details in the Sears MC thread.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I figured too big even when it was laying on my porch. It is definitely a size 46 on. Probably weighs 7 pounds. The seller did an excellent job on the loose zipper tape. At 180 pounds it is big through the shoulders. When i get a heavy shirt on it will be fine. It is a cool jacket with...
