I found a dark brown Guess brand jacket that looks very similar. It was a lucky thrift find. It has four pockets. The two additional ones are strait down from the top two, above the waist. It has zippers on the end of the sleeves instead of buttons. I think I paid $35 or $40.
I used to have a Royal Stetson that had a ribbon similar to the Playboys. You may have to get in line if you're a Stetson lover like most of us are. Happy hunting.
I second that. If you like the look 'n' shape of a new wool felt, buy it. But don't be surprised if it is nigh on impossible to reshape the crown in particular. I bought the white Moonshine Spirit Men's 3X Wool Felt in 7 3/8. It fits nicely. It wasn't too round like some of the other makes in...
Looks like you got the hang of it! Very neat. Im from ranch people but missed out on the using saddles part. Bareback mostly for me. I have much love for anything western: boots, hats, clothes, artwork, and natural materials like leather, felt, wool, and cotton. Anyways, I'm tired and rambling...
I'd probably go with something like these with a walking or roper heel. I'v got a pair which have a bit of a different treatment on the upper but are a similar brown with leather soles. Those Aldens remind me of a vintage pair of black shoes I like to wear with gray pants. Nice.
Love the setup. Neat vtg colors. Nice recognizable brand and style. Glad you got what you hoped for for so long. As I sit here in my long, cashmere blend winter coat, booted and hatted in western fashion, I wish I was wearing my old, cobalt blue Royal Stetson. I gifted it to a young man who was...
I'd think that lid would easily match a '50s Era OR or Royal in quality depending on how stiff or flxi the brim is; you are saying 'Cowboy Hat'. Is it a snap brim??
Gotta love a vtg Resistol at any rate.
That could have been in a time capsule. Just fabulous condition and looks good on the noggin shot. I'm jealous of westerns like that. Modern ones I've handled lately are so far from the old nearly crushable felf that I have handled in my old no-name western. Just love seeing a gem like that...
I'm showing this old pic because it is virtually all I have left of my white whale of a hat. I found it in a Stetson box in an antique store in Colorado back about 8 years ago or so.
I don't have to tell many of you what it's like to be a hat lover, come hat buyer, turned collector, who then...
I made a HUGE MISTAKE. I let my '50s Stetson Open Road Twenty Five slip away. I traded it for a painting which I moderately liked, but didn't love.
Apparently it's worth a lot of chicken feed according to this ebay listing:
Stetson Fedora Hat Open Road Twenty Five 7 3/8 Rare with Box 50s...
