What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

As far as I can figure out The store it came from (Barrys Dept Store In Killeen Tx) was closed in the late 60s. (a rather upscale store for that town Near Ft Hood). Cool to have the store sweatband embossing and price tag .To have the Texas origination... to my family's hometown of Cookeville...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Coffee hat of the day is the new 3x Long Oval Open Road. One of my few Cattlemans Crease. For an inexpensive ebay hat, Ive been thrilled with the condition and fit of this one. Fun to find one with the original store price tag still there.

Todays SECOND ebay sucess is a nice light taupe Champ Featherweight... 2-1/4" brim ( My others are darker brown and black) Love the way these lightweight hats feel on the head. Guess I need to get serious and find a silverbelly too. One of my grandfathers had a silver Featherweight that really...

Ask a question, get an answer

Im thinking its time for dissassembly and a thorough gas bath ( or two or three) should get you back into a servicable hat Some of those orange and bluish spots almost look like a dye bleed. Back when the Urban Cowboy feathered hatbands were big, we used to see splotches like that after someone...

And its monday!!! Pulled a little Stetson Royal Deluxe Roadster B off the wall today. Its one of my favorite cheap modern Stetsons. Nice comfy, soft dress hat. Looking at the pics I see that I should do a bit of maintenance on some rain drop spots lol

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

And then there are a couple different ebay sellers that always look like they have nothing on while modeling their hats.... Makes me feel like I should go wash my hands or take a shower or something when I see their ads. Not good marketing.... PUT A SHIRT ON! Makes me think of druggies selling...

    Clarks Desert Boots Lately

As a leatherworker, I do appreciate a shoe that has a sole actually stitched on, but in reality, shoe uppers are normally stitched to a leather last which is then glued to the sole. properly glued sole is just fine. Hot Hide glue has held the soles on mankinds shoes since the 1400's. As...
