I’ve got a J-22 in size 44, and the J-24 collars fit mine. I’ve got a newer black collar as well as the older brown, both purchased through celluloid1984.com
Well guys, It seems like Cheech was right. The new mouton collar fits fine. I would say there are some areas that would need to be stretched (I don't know if it is because the collar is new maybe after a few wears, it fits better) the back button is off by only .5 mm (or less) .... It could be my installation that is the problem. Anyway here are some pictures.

Looks sharp! I think you will find that the leather will stretch to adapt to the fit. At this point, I never remove the mouton collar, and it fits perfectly. Good score!

As in a size 44 collar as well?

Just got myself a J22 and looking to get one of the J24 collars but want to make sure I don't need to size down...
I would size down if you plan on buying a new collar. The current edition of collars are such that a 42 would fit best a size-44 J-22.

Thanks! Are the new version j24 collars you have one size down from your J22? And they fit fine? Or do you have the same size but notice they fit a bit big?

It looks like according to one of @Shawnziee posts he just got the same size for his j22 and it fits.

Currently may have a friend who is in Japan able to get one from the store in an edition they only sell there so just trying to make sure it would fit, or even if a size down would fit if they have limited sizes...
